Unfriendly NPC
Yun Ze paused, Yu Yu internally thought that it couldn’t possibly be that cliché right, like how if you’re killed in the game world, you die in the real world too, etc. Isn’t that the common plot line for many cartoons, movies and novels.
“You can’t die, but it’s about the same as death.”
“…” Yu Yu frowned.
“You will become an NPC.”
“…”
“After becoming an NPC, if you want to get away, you can only use every means possible to kill the game participants. That is because the dead participants in the game will take the place of the NPC.”
“As for why she brought you to the library before doing it, there are many possible reasons. It may be the game system arrangement, or because the NPC was killed in the library.”
Yu Yu gulped, forcing himself to digest Yun Ze’s words, “You mean, the one you killed was a real person just now?”
Yun Ze glanced at Yu Yu speechlessly, “What I killed was only a real person that had become a NPC. Even if it was a real person before it is not anymore, and my gun is only an equipment item in the game. After a certain amount of time passed the little girl will resurrect on the spot, appearing where you first saw her.”
Yu Yu breathed a sigh of relief, and suddenly realized that if there was no help from Yun Ze just now, he would be the one who appeared in the small forest now.
Thinking about it, he felt a chill on his back…
“But why, what is the purpose of this game, what does the Y behind everyone mean, and what does the wanted criminal sign under the portrait behind them mean?”
After asking several questions in one breath, Yun Ze obviously didn’t want to answer all of them. Yu Yu saw a little helplessness in his eyes that was refraining an outburst.
“You will learn a lot of things slowly. The only thing you need to know is that the people who come here are all guilty people.”
Guilty? “Although I am not a model citizen, I have never committed any violation of law or discipline. I helped my grandmother to cross the road a few days ago. Where does the guilt come from?”
Yun Ze had no intention of paying attention to him, walked into the library on the second floor, and began to look for new clues.
Yu Yu’s words were dissipated by Yun Ze into a silent smoke, so he had to hold back first, and asked in a passive aggressive tone, “Is there anything I can help?”
The distribution of the library is that the first floor is filled with various art scrolls, and the second floor is where Chinese and foreign novels were kept. Yu Yu often reads novels in class and is most familiar with the second floor.
“What kind of book are you looking for? I am most familiar with it here.”
Yun Ze still ignored him. He touched the rows of bookshelves, walked to the innermost bookshelf, tapped gently, and removed the top four books. There is a small box hidden behind the four books.
He took out the key to open the box and removed a drawing from inside of the box. A series of Arabic numerals are written on the back of the drawing.
“Is this a clue? It looks like a password for somewhere.”
Yun Ze nodded, seemingly in a good mood, “But first there’s a need to determine whether the clue is real or fake.”
“There are even real or fake clues?”
“Anything can be fake in this kind of place.”
Yun Ze stood up and put away the password paper. He said that judging by the level of this game, the possibility that the clue is true is relatively high.
Suddenly there was a heart-piercing scream.
Yu Yu instinctively wanted to see what happened, but was held down by Yun Ze, “What are you going to do?”
“It sounds like someone who also came and played the game is in danger, so I can’t just sit back and ignore it.”
Yun Ze was startled for only a short while, but Yu Yu had already broken free, and ran downstairs following the direction of the scream.
The pitiful scream sounded like it came from the direction of the teaching building. Yu Yu remembered that there were three people there. Remembering that there was no equipment available on his body, he couldn’t help but raise his vigilance, rolled up his sleeves revealing strong arm muscles, and approached the place step by step.
