Only Human Here 22

I Am the Only Human Here - Chapter 22

Wei Huan recovered very quickly, to the point of being unreasonable. When he opened his eyes, he found himself still being held by Yun Yongzhuo, flying in mid-air.

What's going on?

"Hey!" Confused awareness cleared by a strong wind, Wei Huan looked up at Yun Yongzhuo's face. "Why are you holding me? Put me down!"

As soon as he said this, Yun Yongzhuo loosened the grip on his knees, and suddenly his legs sank. Wei Huan instinctively hugged Yun Yongzhuo's neck. "Damn! I didn't ask you to let go at this moment!"

Feeling Yun Yongzhuo's hands tighten again, Wei Huan's suspended heart finally relaxed. "You scared the hell out of me…"

He, who was about to lean on Yun Yongzhuo's shoulder, sighed in relief. In that moment, their eyes unexpectedly met.

So close.

The golden color in his pupils had not faded yet, leaving a hint of the sun's afterglow. As Wei Huan looked closely, the eye that was closer to him revealed a faint sun totem. When he tilted his head to continue looking, Yun Yongzhuo averted his gaze. "Seen enough?"

Wei Huan then realized and felt a bit awkward, considering the words he had just spoken upon waking up. It seemed a bit inconsistent with his previous character, so he quickly tried to salvage the situation. "Seen enough."

The hands that held Yun Yongzhuo's neck were very hot, as if he wasn't touching Yun Yongzhuo's skin but the golden crow fire he controlled. Wei Huan let go, feeling like a girl, but holding on made him seem even more awkward. After some hesitation, Wei Huan hadn't made a decision yet when Yun Yongzhuo casually spoke, "Is touching the neck fun?"

Who's touching your neck? I'm torn between hugging or not hugging you.

Wei Huan found it even stranger. Was this still the same Yun Yongzhuo from seven years ago? How did the cool beauty turn into this?

"It's fun, especially fun."

Even Yun Yongzhuo was starting to tease people now. Wei Huan decided to throw caution to the wind, not only hugging but also burying his head in Yun Yongzhuo's shoulder pit. "Instructor Yun, I'm so excited now, I'm excited to the point of tears! I…"

He had gone this far. If Yun Yongzhuo didn't let him go and still liked humans, especially males!

"Then cry."

"What the hell?"

Wei Huan choked. After staying silent for a while, nestled at Yun Yongzhuo's neck, he replied softly, "I… I… Oh, I got a bit too excited, and now I can't seem to cry…"

Yun Yongzhuo didn't say anything else, just held him silently, and after a moment, they landed.

He wasn't like this before, not giving in, unlike himself who always tried to find a way out even when there wasn't one.

Why the sudden change?

Wei Huan sneakily raised his head for a glance. This wasn't the main gate of Shanhai; it was the south gate.

His mouth was too fast. When he was about to ask, he restrained himself. After all, a newly enrolled human student wouldn't have the authority to be at the south gate of Shanhai University, nor would they know about this place.

The barrier in the south area separated the teaching area from the student living area. Most of the space was occupied by faculty apartments, with a small part being the military research institute.

"Where is this?" Wei Huan pretended to be clueless, eager to play along. Acting as if struck by inspiration, he struggled out of Yun Yongzhuo's embrace, taking several steps back to maintain a safe distance.

In front of the south gate stood two huge Qiongqi beasts, glaring ominously at Wei Huan's back. Wei Huan suddenly sensed the demonic energy of the Qiongqi, stopped in his tracks, and turned to look.

Qiongqi was extremely fierce and loved to eat humans.

Wei Huan's heart skipped a beat, scared, he ran back behind Yun Yongzhuo, grabbing the fabric on his back. "Instructor Yun, you go first…"

Yun Yongzhuo didn't speak, glanced at the two fierce beasts, and walked towards the south gate. Wei Huan nervously followed behind, staying close, afraid that the demonic beasts might decide to eat him. The barrier at the south gate opened directly for Yun Yongzhuo, and he led Wei Huan inside before it closed again.

Wait a minute. Wei Huan thought, Yun Yongzhuo's demonic power is so strong, why didn't he just use the teleportation spell back when they were in the demon city? Why did he have to fly all the way back while carrying him? It's really unnecessary trouble.

Just as he was thinking this, Wei Huan felt his body plummet, landing abruptly on a large black bed. He was at the south gate just a moment ago.

Damn, does this guy have telepathy or something?

Wei Huan pushed himself up from the bed, "I almost broke my back. My precious waist hasn't even been used much yet…" As he sat up, he felt something round under his buttocks.

"Yiyiyiyi!"

What the hell.

Wei Huan quickly moved away, and indeed, the creature on the bed was the little fuzzy ball. Before he could make his next move, the small fuzzy ball stuck to Wei Huan's head, making happy squeaky sounds, like a little rubber duck enjoying a warm bath.

This creature was bound to reveal its identity sooner or later. Wei Huan kept a close eye on Yun Yongzhuo's back, trying to pry the fuzzy ball off his head with his hands. No matter how hard he tried, the ball remained firmly attached.

"I don't believe this…" Just as Wei Huan was about to make another attempt, Yun Yongzhuo turned around. Wei Huan hastily dropped his arms, subconsciously reaching out to catch whatever Yun Yongzhuo threw at him.

"What's this…" Wei Huan opened his palm, revealing a purplish-red fruit the size of a loquat, very cold.

"Soul-Reverting Fruit," Yun Yongzhuo said casually, as if it were an ordinary fruit and not a life-saving elixir.

The little fuzzy ball mimicked Yun Yongzhuo's tone, making serious sounds, "Yiyiyiyi."

Wei Huan was surprised. He never expected Yun Yongzhuo to still have this Soul-Reverting Fruit. Although he knew that the fruit wouldn't rot, it had been ten years. Why would Yun Yongzhuo keep it?

Yun Yongzhuo silently took off his instructor's uniform jacket, revealing a black vest underneath, paired with slightly loose instructor pants, accentuating his narrow waist.

He lifted his head, his gaze fixed on Wei Huan's puzzled eyes. Even without asking a question, Yun Yongzhuo provided an answer.

"I don't want to keep a dead person as a pet."

After begging for the Soul-Reverting Fruit for so long, Wei Huan never expected to receive it from the hands of the previous leader of the new students.

Wei Huan didn't know what to say. Too many emotions were entwined. He knew he should eat the fruit to have a chance at survival, but he was uncertain if this was a form of deception.

In Yun Yongzhuo's eyes, he was just trying to keep a human slave he successfully tamed. But he wasn't. He wasn't human.

He was even curious, would Yun Yongzhuo regret it if he knew Wei Huan was the Nine Phoenix? After all, the reputation of the Nine Phoenix had been tarnished.

If Yun Yongzhuo realized he gave such a precious item to the alleged traitor of Shanhai, what would he think?

"Why did you keep me as a pet?" Wei Huan slightly raised his face. His delicate human face added a touch of vulnerability as he asked, "Can the great demon of the Golden Crow family casually keep humans as pets?"

The Golden Crow family is different from other clans; most of them are involved in politics, with a strong foundation. They manage the demons within the family very strictly, especially Yun Yongzhuo's father, who, as the faction leader, imposes a strict and even perverse family education.

"I don't need a reason for anything."

After saying this, Yun Yongzhuo walked straight towards him, staring down at Wei Huan with a condescending attitude. His sharp gaze seemed to penetrate through his false facade.

His pupils turned golden once again, and a hint of emotion flickered across his cold face. Wei Huan couldn't describe that emotion; it was too complex, beyond his perceptual range.

The long-lost light suddenly appeared, binding Wei Huan and pulling him in front of Yun Yongzhuo.

Here it comes again.

"Don't need it? As a captive creature, I don't even know what I need to do." Wei Huan struggled but couldn't break free, only able to look up at Yun Yongzhuo's cold face. His lips curved up. "You don't plan to tell me?"

Seemingly hitting the mark, a glimmer of light flashed in Yun Yongzhuo's eyes as he looked elsewhere.

"After eating the fruit, leave the mountain and sea for me."

Pausing, he added, "Return to your human realm, find a place to hide, the farther, the better."

Wei Huan stiffened. What did this mean?

Why would a demon go through the trouble of keeping someone captive, only to let them leave in the end and give them such an important soul-reviving fruit? Is Yun Yongzhuo insane?

"I'm not leaving." Wei Huan decisively refused. He hadn't figured out who framed him, so how could he easily leave the mountain and sea?

Could it be Yun Yongzhuo?

This frightening thought suddenly arose but was quickly dismissed by Wei Huan.

If Yun Yongzhuo recognized him and feared retaliation, why give him the soul-reviving fruit? It would be easier to let him wait for death. This situation doesn't make sense; he's not going to harm himself.

Definitely not.

Moreover, Yun Yongzhuo is proud and aloof; he couldn't bring himself to harm others.

"I'm not leaving." Wei Huan denied firmly once again. "I worked hard to get in; I can't just leave like that."

"Not leaving?" Yun Yongzhuo's gaze returned to Wei Huan's face, leaning down, slender fingers pinching Wei Huan's chin, getting closer.

Once again, the fragile human heart started to beat wildly, as if the long-lost archenemy in front of him was the trigger for its revival. No other reasons mattered; only this person was the proof of his resurrection.

For no apparent reason, he didn't know why.

The seemingly unfeeling lips, as they closed in on the corner of his mouth, shifted away, gliding to his ear.

"Do you want to stay by my side?"

Stay by your side.

In an instant, Wei Huan felt a slight confusion in his memory. Someone in his mind was repeating this phrase, but it wasn't Yun Yongzhuo's voice. Strange, it sounded more like his own.

[I'm going to stay by your side from now on. If you become an instructor, so will I. If you go to the battlefield, I'll go too. I won't let you die. How about that?]

His consciousness suddenly returned to reality, and a pair of bewildered eyes looked at Yun Yongzhuo's face.

Yun Yongzhuo remained silent, released his grip, and even the light restraint disappeared.

"Hey, don't go…" Wei Huan uttered before Yun Yongzhuo turned away, immediately regretting it and feeling the urge to bite his tongue in self-punishment. How could he unconsciously say such things to him? It was madness.

Well, since it's already like this, he might as well pretend to be clingy and not let go. Yun Yongzhuo surely wouldn't fancy someone like him. Even if he momentarily liked this appearance, as long as he did his best to annoy and disgust him, there would be a day when Yun Yongzhuo would grow tired of it.

After all these calculations, Wei Huan immediately squeezed out a flattering smile, grabbing Yun Yongzhuo's arm. "I just want to stay by your side. I admire you so much, and I came to Shanhai just for you!"

Uncharacteristically, Yun Yongzhuo didn't shake him off, raising an eyebrow. "But I heard your idol is Jiufeng."

Wei Huan was stunned, quickly laughing. "No, how could I like a traitor…"

After saying this, he felt Yun Yongzhuo staring at him, giving him a creepy feeling. Wei Huan tried to convince himself to maintain eye contact casually.

His hand unconsciously tightened, and only then did he remember the soul-reviving fruit. So, pretending to be afraid of Yun Yongzhuo changing his mind, he quickly ate the fruit. "Without me telling you, it's quite tasty. When does the effect of this medicine start? Is my poison really cured now?"

Yun Yongzhuo ignored him, leaving the room without a word. Wei Huan finally breathed a sigh of relief; he was genuinely afraid of Yun Yongzhuo discovering his identity, even though he couldn't explain why. After a moment, Yun Yongzhuo returned, holding a medical kit.

"Come to the edge of the bed."

Wei Huan murmured and obediently sat at the bedside. The little furball, which had been silent and breathless, mimicked his actions with a soft sound. Yun Yongzhuo pulled a chair and sat in front of him, opening the medical kit.

Wei Huan was puzzled. The constitution of demons, especially high-level ones, had a rapid healing ability. Even if they needed medicinal assistance, the drugs used were entirely different from those for humans. Where did Yun Yongzhuo get human medications, and why was he bothering with them?

Yun Yongzhuo remained silent, lowering his head to take out a medical adhesive. Concentrating, he tore off a piece.

This was the first time since his rebirth that Wei Huan was alone with someone familiar.

Wei Huan silently watched Yun Yongzhuo. His eyelashes were dyed semi-transparent by the twilight, casting long, trembling shadows on his thin skin, resembling the swaying tree shadows on a summer wall.

Remembering the times when Yun Yongzhuo engaged in intense battles, his skin would take on a blood-red demonic pattern. Although Wei Huan had only seen it once.

Yun Yongzhuo then retrieved scissors from a small box, cutting a small piece of adhesive tape.

When he raised his head, preparing to apply it to his own face, Wei Huan finally woke up from the allure, grabbing his wrist. "Wait a moment."

Yun Yongzhuo frowned, and his gaze turned cold again.

"Not…," Wei Huan awkwardly pointed out, "I remember it should be… disinfect the wound first, then apply the medicine, and finally use this tape." He grabbed the small piece of tape in Yun Yongzhuo's hand, shaking it. "This, use this to secure the gauze…"

Awkwardly explaining, Wei Huan released Yun Yongzhuo's wrist and reached for alcohol and cotton swabs from the box. "Or let me do it myself…"

"Put it down."

In an instant, a bunch of light cones emerged from somewhere, radiating towards Wei Huan's head, causing him to drop the cotton swab in fright. "Oh damn!"

"Don't move," Yun Yongzhuo calmly said, "I know what to do."

Can't you speak properly, my goodness? Almost scared me into the afterlife again.

Wei Huan took several deep breaths before reluctantly forcing a smile at the ancestor in front of him. "Okay, okay, I won't move. Can you put your treasures back, big brother?"

Yun Yongzhuo glanced at him, and the light cones retreated a bit, surrounding the two of them but not disappearing. Wei Huan couldn't understand what Yun Yongzhuo was thinking. Was he worried or something? Then why keep a stranger captive? Something's seriously wrong with his head.

Could it be that this pampered young master has some strange penchant for taking care of others? Wei Huan's Adam's apple rolled at the thought of the various flowers and plants he accidentally killed during his childhood.

No, I'm a living, breathing person with flesh, blood, and a pretty face. Who would I complain to if this young master ends up taking care of me to death?

"Don't move," Yun Yongzhuo softly spoke, and only then did Wei Huan realize how close they were. His cheek, Yun Yongzhuo's fingertip—the only connection was the cotton swab soaked in chilly alcohol.

Short distances were a tool for creating illusions, and Wei Huan felt like the fire lurking in Yun Yongzhuo's blood was gradually transferring into the small cotton swab and reaching him.

So that's why his face started to heat up.

Yes, that's it.

Wei Huan averted his eyes, not looking at him. The wound stung a bit when probed, but the pain was much lighter than expected. He tried hard to maintain the composure of his face until Yun Yongzhuo finished applying the medicine.

It was a long process, even though he didn't know why he felt so tense.

Anyway, Wei Huan could always find an excuse for himself, so he subconsciously hinted that it must be Yun Yongzhuo's light cones making him uneasy.

Until all the wounds on his face were properly bandaged, Wei Huan found it incredible. No one had ever received such treatment before, not even his little Jiufeng. After all, Yun Yongzhuo was cold and arrogant, not caring about anyone.

"Thank you." His Adam's apple rolled unnaturally, and the atmosphere between them was too quiet. Wei Huan attempted to shift the focus. "The soul-reviving fruit really works; I feel completely fine now." He lowered his head to inspect his fingertips. "The bruise on my finger is gone too. I just wonder if there are any side effects…"

Yun Yongzhuo remained silent, quietly packing up the medical kit.

"Can I go back to my dorm now?" Wei Huan cautiously inquired. Without his demonic powers, he still felt a bit afraid of Yun Yongzhuo.

The little furball made a pitiful humming sound, hopping from his head to his shoulder, constantly wriggling as if trying to stop Wei Huan. "Ying ying ying, ying ying ying, ying ying ying ying…"

Yun Yongzhuo raised his eyes, seemingly not showing much reaction. Wei Huan understood him well; no reaction was the best reaction. So, he added another sentence.

"My friend is still waiting for me to have dinner. I have to go quickly. Instructor Yun, I'll come again next time…"

Unexpectedly, after hearing this, Yun Yongzhuo suddenly frowned. He silently stared at him for a few seconds, then stood up. "No."

"No, I'm not going back to the dormitory! Where else can I go, Instructor Yun! You can't make me sleep in that pond, I can't swim!"

Wei Huan made a pitiful expression, stretching his neck to look at Yun Yongzhuo's back, shouting, "Instructor Yun! If you don't let me go back, I'll stay in your bedroom!" After saying this, he bounced on the bed, clapping his hands on it. "I'll stay right here on this bed! I won't leave, Instructor Yun, I…"

Before he could finish speaking, clothes thrown towards him hit his face. Taking them down and inspecting, there were several sets of clean clothes, including a familiar black shirt.

"This is…"

"What you said, that you won't leave even if you die." Yun Yongzhuo crossed his arms, leaning against the door frame, looking at him. "The bedroom is yours. I'll sleep in the living room."

"Ah…" Wei Huan had just started speaking when Yun Yongzhuo turned around, slamming the door shut with a bang, and it even locked.

What's with this young master and his weird temper?

Wei Huan pressed the ring on his middle finger, and his combat uniform transformed into regular summer attire within seconds. He stared at the black shirt Yun Yongzhuo gave him, unable to remember where he had seen it before.

Forget it. Wei Huan felt dirty all over after completing the mission, even despising himself. So, he took the clean clothes and went to take a shower.

When he pushed open the bathroom door, he smelled a burning odor. Wei Huan's heart skipped a beat. "Oh no, is there a fire?" He pounded on the bedroom door for a while, and after a considerable time, the electronic lock finally opened.

"What are you doing… no, I mean…" Wei Huan felt his tone was too aggressive, not suitable for addressing a teacher. Smoke wafted through the living room, and Wei Huan walked towards the direction of the smoke. "Instructor Yun, what are you doing? Why is there so much smoke… cough, cough, cough…"

The smoke in the kitchen stung his eyes, and Wei Huan waved his hand for a long time, throat sore. "Are you having a bonfire party here?"

Yun Yongzhuo standing on the side turned to look at him, still not saying anything. Wei Huan carefully observed him, and it seemed like there was a hint of regret in his eyes.

Suppressing a laugh, Wei Huan turned off the fire and opened the kitchen window for ventilation. "Are you planning to cook?"

Yun Yongzhuo glanced at him, then at the burnt pot. He remained silent.

Wei Huan was convinced that this young master had experienced some significant trauma during the years he was dead. Previously, he only lost his ability to speak, but now his mind was also abnormal.

"Let me handle it," Wei Huan rolled up the sleeves of the black shirt and lifted the burnt pot, pouring out the unidentified substance inside and placing it in the sink. Then, he reached into the top cabinet, grabbed a new pot, and put it on the stove.

After setting everything up, Wei Huan wiped the countertop. Surprisingly, it was filled with Fengzhou's ingredients, like tomatoes and green vegetables—human food, even though there weren't many humans who could afford these organic foods now. He looked back at Yun Yongzhuo, who was still staring at him and sizing him up.

"What are you looking at?" Wei Huan also lowered his head.

"Why aren't you wearing long pants?" Upon hearing this soul-stirring question, Wei Huan replied absentmindedly, "You didn't give me long pants."

There was a strange silence between the two, and Yun Yongzhuo left the kitchen.

Wei Huan pursed his lips, took off the apron from the kitchen wall, put it on, and checked his boxer shorts.

It's not that revealing; what's there for a man to be afraid of?

After silently complaining in his mind, Wei Huan rinsed the vegetables under the tap. While cutting tomatoes, he thought about Yun Yongzhuo's attitude earlier. Inadvertently, he cut his index finger, and blood oozed out. Wei Huan quickly rinsed it with water, but strangely, he didn't feel any pain.

The Reverse Soul Fruit is really something.

Staring at the wound for a while, Wei Huan noticed it was quite deep. However, he felt no sensation. He pressed his finger to stop the bleeding, planning to find something to bandage it.

As he stepped out, Wei Huan saw a band-aid on the dining table. Without finding it strange, he walked over, patched up his wound, and turned to see Yun Yongzhuo sitting on the living room sofa, stretching out his left hand, seemingly examining something.

Yun Yongzhuo was indeed the strangest person he had ever seen. Wei Huan shook his head and went back to the kitchen.

With limited ingredients, Wei Huan could only whip up something simple. In no time, he brought two bowls of noodles. "Instructor Yun, just manage with this for now. Next time, I'll make something delicious for you."

While flattering him, Wei Huan's eyes scanned the room. He noticed Yun Yongzhuo, who had taken a shower, now wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and sitting at the dining table.

Probably due to the clothes, he looked like the silent guy from seven years ago. Slightly wet hair hung on his forehead, partially covering the red flame mark on his left temple.

Wei Huan untied the apron, hung it on the back of the chair, and sat across from Yun Yongzhuo. As soon as his buttocks touched the seat, he immediately stood up cautiously and asked, "Can I sit here?"

Yun Yongzhuo glanced at him and gave a soft "Hmm."

Only then did Wei Huan feel at ease. One had to be cautious with someone as unpredictable as Yun Yongzhuo.

Fanzhou, suffering from constant wars, lagged in agricultural development. Combined with resource looting and the inability to consume demon food, much of the food was synthetic inorganic products.

Wei Huan ate artificial kelp and similar things during the days in the dark zone. Originally, the demon realm looked down on human food, and Yun Yongzhuo, born into a prestigious demon family, had almost never eaten human food.

It's really confusing how his taste has changed, now even liking human food.

Finishing his own portion quickly, as the missions were physically demanding, Wei Huan wiped his mouth and looked at Yun Yongzhuo. "Is it delicious, Instructor Yun?"

Yun Yongzhuo ate leisurely, with no change in tone, but his words were affirmative. "Delicious."

Quite easy to please.

For some reason, this warm scene should be unfamiliar to them, but Wei Huan didn't feel particularly awkward at the moment. After finishing their meal, Yun Yongzhuo asked him to return to the bedroom and walked to the sofa in the living room himself.

Glancing outside, Wei Huan's tall figure on the sofa looked somewhat absurd. So, he suggested, "Instructor Yun, why don't you come in to sleep? Do you have a new blanket? I can make a makeshift bed on the floor."

Yun Yongzhuo walked into the bedroom, searched in the wardrobe, and only found a thin quilt. Afraid of making him uncomfortable, Wei Huan grabbed the blanket and headed outside.

"Stop."

Pausing in his steps, Wei Huan turned back with a smile, "Um, I think the sofa outside is quite comfortable."

Yun Yongzhuo's eyebrow twitched slightly. "Come back."

His voice always carried an undeniable firmness, and Wei Huan had no choice. He was currently at Yun Yongzhuo's mercy and had to follow whatever he said.

If this guy, who was so unpredictable, released a bunch of light cones later that pierced him like a sieve, it wouldn't be worth it.

"I didn't mean to run away." Wei Huan blinked, "I was just joking with you. I was going to take a few steps to digest my food." Holding the blanket, he did a few lunges in place, then walked to the bed, knelt down, and laid it out. He obediently lay down, "Good night, Instructor Yun, sweet dreams."

Yun Yongzhuo didn't respond, but Wei Huan assumed he had accepted it. Turning away from Yun Yongzhuo's bed, he only felt relieved when he sensed Yun Yongzhuo turned off the light and lay down.

There was Yun Yongzhuo's scent on this shirt, Wei Huan could tell. He remembered this cold fragrance since school days, very faint but unique.

On this early summer night, a breeze came in, and Wei Huan, half-asleep, shrank his chin, feeling a embroidery on the inside of the collar.

Suddenly, he remembered the owner of this shirt, but consciousness took a step ahead, sinking into the swamp-like dream.

In the dream, he returned to his teenage years. The summer wind billowed his black shirt, someone called his name, and Wei Huan turned around to see Yang Sheng in a white shirt and jeans. He held two strings of candied haws, but the fruits on them didn't look like ordinary ones, resembling wild grapes.

"What's this?" Wei Huan took a string from him and sniffed. Yang Sheng pointed to the bustling stalls on the main road of Shanhai University, "Girls from Jiahui College are selling them. They say it's candied haws made from fruits of the Wancao plant."

Today was Shanhai University's once-in-a-decade Shanhai Festival, initially established to commemorate the founding of the university. Over time, it evolved from the university's anniversary celebration into a campus carnival, usually held on July 7th of the second year after enrollment, lasting for three full days, the grandest festival of Shanhai.

The Shanhai Festival had various activities, each college having its own specialties. Jiahui College's students particularly liked setting up stalls to sell rare herbs.

"How much for this string?"

"Thirty demon coins."

Wei Huan rolled his eyes, shoved the string back into Yang Sheng's hands, "Are you stupid? You believe her when she says it's Wancao fruit? Wancao is so expensive. Can someone casually set up a stall with fruit that significantly increases intelligence? It's obviously wild grapes."

After saying that, Wei Huan pulled Yang Sheng's wrist and took a bite of the candied grapes in his hand, mumbling, "I knew it. Those girls love to deceive honest demons like you."

"If you don't want to eat, then don't." Yang Sheng withdrew his hand, but Wei Huan snatched the string back, "I want to eat! Don't talk, these little grapes are quite tasty."

A boy in a light green long shirt walked over, holding a folding fan, looking like he came from another era. Wei Huan, recognizing him, immediately raised his arm and waved, "Yuyu!"

Su Buyu also smiled, with a gentle expression, "Why are you two dressed like Yin and Yang today?"

Wei Huan looked at himself, then glanced at Yang Sheng, laughing, "Really, we do." He quickly raised his eyebrows at Su Buyu, "Isn't my shirt nice? I just bought it. Look, there's even my initials inside the collar, quite a coincidence, so I bought it."

Yang Sheng circled around Su Buyu, "But what's with your outfit?"

Su Buyu's delicate face showed a bit of surprise, "Really? Don't you know? As soon as I came in, I was pulled to draw lots. Didn't you encounter it?" He took out a blue cloth lot and handed it to them.

The front of the lot was embroidered with the silver wind patterns of Fu Yao, and when opened, it had a line of words—Ancient-style cosplay.

"This is a new activity for this year's Shanhai Festival. It seems that the student unions of each college and the top 100 of Shanhai must participate, and other students can join voluntarily. You have to draw lots in front of Mingxiang Tower to know what project you'll participate in."

Wei Huan sneered at the mention of the lot, "Certainly no good. I'm not going. Whoever wants to go can go. My handsome schedule for today is to stroll around the night market stalls. Oh, by the way, I've made plans with the mermaid beauty from Shanshan College. I'm going to watch her water ballet later."

Yang Sheng grabbed Wei Huan, who was about to run off, "You're ranked second on the Hundred Names List; you can't not go."

"No," as soon as Wei Huan heard the words [second place], he reflexively got annoyed, "Can you not be so obsessed with rankings? Besides, the first-place definitely won't go. As the second, I have to constantly keep up with the top, it's called learning from the wise. Don't understand? Probably not good at classical Chinese. I was the class representative for classical Chinese in elementary school…"

"But the first place is going," Su Buyu smiled, "He's at Mingxiang Tower now."

"What?! Is Yun Yongzhuo crazy?"

No matter how Wei Huan argued, in the end, the two buddies exchanged a knowing smile. Yang Sheng spread his wings, and Su Buyu conjured a cloud under his feet. They each grabbed one of Wei Huan's arms and forcibly transported him to Mingxiang Tower.

"Hey! You two wait for me!"

Mingxiang Tower was crowded, and seeing two demons flying in the sky, students quickly made way. Yang Sheng and Su Buyu, in unison, let go of Wei Huan, dropping him.

"Damn, my butt! You're going to kill me! "

Yang Sheng landed with a laugh, folding his wings, while Su Buyu conjured a cloud under his feet. He grabbed one of Wei Huan's arms and forcefully swung him onto the cloud.

"Hey! You two wait for me!"

Wei Huan complained, but Yang Sheng and Su Buyu ignored him, leaving him to chase after them.

In front of Mingxiang Tower, Yun Yongzhuo stood among the crowd. As Wei Huan tried to escape in the opposite direction, he collided with someone.

"Oh damn, who's so blind to bump into this handsome guy!"

Looking up, he realized it was Yun Yongzhuo.

The moment before, Wei Huan had a toothy grin, lightly patting his right cheek, "It's me~"

Yang Sheng was utterly speechless, turning to Su Buyu, "Have you ever seen someone so shameless?"

Expectedly, Su Buyu was about to continue the banter with him, but he seemed stunned, turning to look at him, "What did you say?"

Ignoring their conversation, Yun Yongzhuo coldly looked at Wei Huan, said nothing, and walked past him. Wei Huan followed him, acting familiar as if they were good friends, chatting away without a care.

"Just now, they said you had already arrived at Mingxiang Tower. Turns out you just got here. I thought you beat me here."

"As soon as I heard you were here, I came over immediately. That's what I call enthusiasm~"

"Hey, I just noticed that the clothes you're wearing today are similar to mine! We both have black shirts, it seems like we have a good understanding!"

"By the way, Yun Yongzhu, do you know what events there are? Have you seen Buyu? The historical costume he's wearing looks good, and I want to try it too. What event do you want to draw?"

Wei Huan is about to stick to Yun Yongzhu, who just glanced at him indifferently and walked to the drawing platform. "As long as it's not the same as yours, it's fine."

Tsk.

This person really…

The drawing platform is actually the three trees in front of Mingxiang Building, named Three Trees. In fact, there is one large tree, resembling a common cypress in Fengzhou, but the leaves are individual pearls, dazzling and beautiful from a distance.

The student union members tied all kinds of draws to this large tree. To ensure balance, all cloth draws are classified according to the college, with four colors: red, blue, green, and white.

Wei Huan walked around under the tree with his hands behind his back, picking and choosing, and then asked the female student in charge of drawing, "What events do you have? Hey, are you a begonia demon?"

The girl was stunned, a blush appearing on her face. "H-How did you guess?"

Wei Huan didn't directly answer but added, "The cheongsam school uniform of Jiahui College looks good on you." After that, he said, "There are flower patterns on your face, although I can't tell exactly which kind of flower it is, and you don't have the fragrance of flowers, so it must be a begonia, and begonias have no fragrance." After saying that, he smiled, showing sharp canine teeth. "I'm not wrong, am I? Hey, you haven't answered my first question."

"Oh, y-yes." Xiaohaitang touched her face with the back of her hand, blushing. She dared not look directly at Wei Huan, turning her face to show him the draw she had already picked. "There's historical costume cosplay, maid cafe, haunted house, and so on."

Unlike Wei Huan, who always teases young girls, Yang Sheng, who is like a disciplinary committee member, drew a draw from the three trees. "Coincidentally, I got the haunted house." Su Buyu took his draw. "Really. You're in trouble scaring little girls in there."

"Do demons also fear ghosts?" Wei Huan interjected. "I think many demons look much worse than ghosts. Fortunately, they dare to fear ghosts."

Yang Sheng sighed helplessly, stuffing the cloth draw into his jeans pocket. "You're the good-looking one. Hurry up and choose."

"I know." Wei Huan subconsciously looked for Yun Yongzhu's figure, found that he hadn't even raised his hand, and the light thread extending slowly from his sleeve had already encircled a red draw.

He looked exceptionally handsome under the radiant tree shadows.

"You look like you're seeking a marriage partner."

Yun Yongzhu gave him a cold glance, and the light thread stopped. Wei Huan immediately covered his small mouth with both hands. Yun Yongzhu's light thread pulled, and the red draw was pulled down.

Wei Huan let go of his hands, chattering non-stop. "Your draw looks like a good one, very auspicious. Your draw must be good too." When the light thread drew a draw, it happened to bring down a blue draw. He turned his right hand, and a ribbon appeared, wrapping up the draw that hadn't fallen to the ground yet. He lifted it up with his hand. "The one you drew for me must be good too."

Yun Yongzhu frowned and finally said, "Who said I drew it for you?"

"You did." Wei Huan grinned, confidently unfolding the blue cloth draw in his hand. His brilliant smile froze instantly after reading the words on it.

"Cafe? Cheongsam costume?"

Yang Sheng, rarely laughing heartily, said, "Hahaha, weren't you just praising someone's cheongsam as good-looking?"

"Doesn't Ahuan inherit any other abilities from somewhere?"

A moment later, Wei Huan raised his hand dignifiedly, fake smiling. "I apply for a redraw."

Yang Sheng, who looked more like a disciplinary committee member than Wei Huan, immediately grabbed him. "No, the rule is that you can only draw once."

Wei Huan was frowning, hiding the draw in his hand. He accidentally glanced at Yun Yongzhu next to him, who had crumpled the red draw into a ball, with an unpleasant expression on his face. Wei Huan suddenly came alive, pushed away Yang Sheng, rushed to Yun Yongzhu, and said, "Hey, hey, hey, what did you draw?"

Yun Yongzhu frowned and said, "Go away."

"No." Wei Huan stubbornly grabbed Yun Yongzhu's shoulder. "Brother Yun, Brother Yong, Brother Zhi, let me see. I want to see."

"Go away." Yun Yongzhu repeated.

The two struggled for a while, and Yun Yongzhu stuffed his draw into his jeans pocket. After a while, he compromised. Just as he was about to let go, he suddenly felt something wrong.

Looking down, a soft vine emitting blue light was reaching into his pocket.

"You!"

The vine created by Wei Huan's wind had already pulled out the red draw, hanging in mid-air, and was caught by Wei Huan, who was smiling brightly.

"Let me see." Wei Huan flew up into the sky, opened the cloth draw, and laughed uncontrollably after reading the words.

"What did I say? Cross-dressing! Hahaha…"

Yang Sheng, looking indifferent, glanced at Su Buyu next to him. "Isn't that right, Wei Huan?"

"Yeah."

"So why is he so happy?"
