NOTE: PHOENIX WALK IS NOT PICKING UP THIS NOVEL. The prologue was TLed and we did not want it to go to waste.

All of the people were surprised to see what was going on so suddenly.

In the middle of the night, if the imperial knights rushed from room to room, it meant that something very serious had happened.

That’s why people showed up as if they were trying to insist on their innocence in spite of being naked or in a hot situation.

Lewis looked towards the closed bedroom door. Unlike the appearance of the Marquis, who seemed to come out in a hurry, the bedroom door was firmly closed.

Not long after the knock to announce the visit, the Marquis came out, but the bedroom door was tightly closed.

Lewis looked around the parlor once again. Shoes and socks were strewn in the corners, and jewelry was laid out on the table.

The jacket fell on the floor on the way to the bedroom and there was no sign of slippers on.

Lewis once again looked at the Marquis and thought about what was bothering him.

And he found it.

Unlike the front of a wide open shirt, the cuffs and watches were neatly wrapped around the wrist.

His gaze turned back to the table.

The ornaments that he had skimmed over and overlooked came into his eyes. It was an awkward disharmony –  like the messy living room and the bedroom door that was tightly closed.

Lewis looked at the tightly closed door on the left.

It was tightly closed as it was to hide something inside or not to show it to others.

“We need to examine the bedroom.”

The face of the smiling Marquis cracked.

Implicit sign.

He openly rebelled against the rule that Alois’ personal space could not be invaded except for things related to the rebellion.

It was a momentary change that the average person would not notice at all, but Lewis noticed.

Why did the Marquis’ composure get disturbed?

Was it Lewis’s ambition against his own authority? Or did he request to reveal a bedroom with something that the Marquis want to hide?

Cler was the emperor’s little brother.

It was reported that the two brothers did not get along well, but they were born under the same parents. He is Alois’ next chieftain and no matter how poorly the relationship is, he could be counted on as the emperor’s greatest supporter even if they were on good terms.

As soon as they found evidence that the one they chased had disappeared to the third floor, Lewis was forced to suspect this man.

“I’m in trouble…”

Arbel gracefully swept his flowing bangs and slurred his words. “Is there any reason you can’t accept the search?”

After the question was shot sharply with pressure, he did not hide his displeasure and said “Spare some courtesy to Alois.”

“You’re not like His Majesty. The presence of an intruder in the Imperial City is a serious matter that is directly linked to the comfort of His Majesty the Emperor. Don’t you think it’s not a matter of reciting courtesy to Alois?”

Lewis looked at the Marquis, unanswering and thought he had his doubts right. “Excuse me.”

With confidence, he opened the door that had been closed without waiting for permission from the Marquis.

Arbel couldn’t hide his embarrassment and irritation at Lewis’ unstoppable behavior. Even if he pretended to be polite, Montfort is Montfort.

Arbel sighed as he watched Lewis stand tall in front of the bedroom door.

Carnett, who hid in his bedroom in a strange outfit, would be suspicious to anyone. What excuses should he make?

Later, he approached Sir Lewis, sweeping his hair in an embarrassing move. There was nothing special about it, but he had to say something. “Lord Lewis, what happened is…”

Arbel’s words, which he attempted to use to point to the bedroom and tried to make a hard excuse for Carnett’s existence, disappeared from his mouth.

His residence was the largest and best place on the VIP floor in the Imperial Palace. Even so, it was just a room for visitors. The spacious bedroom, which had only a large bed that occupied the center and a sofa for one person, was simple and dreary.

In other words, even if there is a suspicious person, there was no place to hide.

Lewis knew that very well.

He raided the bedroom to catch the Marquis off guard, who would have thought they couldn’t investigate this far.

I must have been suspicious.

He knew that Carnett would not have done anything stupid such as hide under a bed Lewis would soon look at.

Arbel mumbled low as he stood behind the absent-minded Lewis. “She would have been better off hiding under the bed… .  “

On the big bed, there was a woman who lay on her back with nothing on.

“Huh? What happened?”

Carnet, who pretended to have woken up at the voices of the knights, rose up and covered her chest with a sheet. Cluttered sheets, tangled hair, and a reddened face that seemed excited by the heat. Her appearance made people easily guess what had happened in this bedroom a while ago.

Lewis and the knights looked at the Marquis who stood in front of the bedroom. His wide-open shirt and unfastened trouser belt said a lot.

In particular, Lewis looked at the cufflinks and watch of the Marquis, which he thought was suspicious, and gave a different opinion than before, It must have been really urgent.

His line of sight which was on the Marquis’ attire, turned back to the bedroom.

The woman on the bed raised her body as she looked at them gathered in front of the bedroom door.

Arbel, who saw that, said hastily. “Everyone, back off….”

“Uh!” The knight next to Lewis screamed.

When Carnett inadvertently raised her arm to wipe her scattered hair, the sheet that covered her body slumped. Arbel hurriedly ran inside as the soaring mound of her chest was revealed.

“Stop moving!”

He pushed Lewis across the bedroom door with a terrifying force, took off his shirt and jumped into bed.

“Oh!”

The Marquis’ act of covering up a woman’s bare body with a naked torso was so quick that everyone even forgot the situation and exclaimed.

In the Hessian gossip paper later, the content was reconstructed based on stories made by people that witnessed it.

<Marquis of Cler’s movement was like a wild leopard seeking food.>

He pulled Carnett to his wide chest as he defended her breathtaking appearance with his shirt, and stared at the people in front of the small bedroom. Lewis, who was pushed to the ground, and the knights, had to step back at its terrifying look.

“Do you have any more work left? No matter how urgent it was, how dare you to break into my bedroom without permission. You have to be prepared. I will hold you accountable for this.”

This was the Marquis who was always kind and polite, regardless of the level of status. His tone and attitude were unprecedentedly harsh.

And Arbel whispered tenderly to the woman in his arms in a completely different voice from what he had said to them.

“Are you surprised? I’m sorry. There seems to be a suspicious intruder in Imperial Castle. Please be patient.”

“Ah!”

The woman, who had her face buried in his chest, screamed little as if she realized what was going on.

She crouched as if to attempt to hide her naked figure, and the Marquis hid the woman with his shirt, but people saw it.

The black hair slightly sticking through the shirt of the marquis.

They noticed that the woman’s head buried in the bare chest of her Marquis was black, not silver, and was in awe of her.

However, the Marquis didn’t care about the other circumstances.

He hugged the woman tightly, and was busy as he tried to cover her slender legs with the sheets.

“You’re choking me.” Carnet, as she barely raised her head from Arbel’s chest, grumbled.

“Shut up. I’m the most upset in my life so far. Oh my God! You’re not wearing anything?” He ordered low, trying not to be conscious of Carnett’s naked body, which was unintentionally bumping into his bare chest. His voice trembled as if he was really angry.

“I had to prepare for a situation where the knights could flip the sheets. If I don’t wear anything on top, but if I’m wearing black pants on the bottom, I’ll be spotted right away. Get your hands off.” Carnett shot at Arbel, who struggled to find out how far she was naked.

“You had to prepare for a situation where the knights could flip the sheets? Are you sane?”

With a stunned expression, Arbel looked down at Carnett with terrified eyes, but from outside, it was only seen with a passionate gaze, as if something secret was about to happen.

Lewis closed the bedroom door as he coughed at the hot atmosphere.

The people in front of Marquis Cler’s room were driven out by Lewis and the knights and returned to their rooms. The knights recalled the scene they had just seen.

It’s the appearance of the Marquis who passionately moved their hands inside the sheet as if it doesn’t matter what kind of gaze was at them.

It was a scene where their chests pounded and their faces blushed.
