High-End Player of Mystery Chapter 1

Welcome to another world

The scene in front of him caught Yu Yu off guard. He clearly remembered that he took a shower at home and then went upstairs to sit at his desk, so why did he suddenly arrive at the school gate?

Was he sleepwalking? dreaming? He pinched himself hard, and the pain was definitely real…

What the hell. He couldn’t help but let out a curse secretly and turned around to leave but was blocked by an invisible barrier. It seemed that there was a natural ward here, forcing Yu Yu to walk back to where he was before.

“Stop messing around, this old master is a materialist, if you have the ability then show yourself.”

The angry voice echoed through the empty street before it finally drowned in the silent air, and no one responded to him.

Only then did Yu Yu discover that this street that was usually full of food stands is now empty, as was the familiar school, and even the security guards are gone. An ominous premonition dominates welled up inside him.

After a long while, the iron gate of the school swung open out of nowhere.

“Welcome to another world, the game program has officially commenced.”

Yu Yu was startled by the mechanical female voice, his body reflectively became alert, and goose bumps broke out all over his body. Finally stabilizing his emotions after a great struggle, he suddenly saw five people standing nearby.

Three men, two women, all of them wearing the same clothes, with their own portraits on their backs, and under the portraits were the words “Wanted criminals—Y”.

“Uhm, I wanted to ask, is this an entertainment show?”

Yu Yu lowered his head and looked at himself uncomfortably. Even when he was mentally prepared, the blood on his face disappeared at a speed visible to the naked eye. He desperately squeezed out an embarrassing and polite smile, “Does anyone know what’s going on??”

The five people looked at Yu Yu expressionlessly, then simultaneously turned their heads in a seemingly sympathetic motion. Although the voice of the discussion was very small, Yu Yu still heard clearly.

“Here’s another newcomer.”

“How pitiful, is he here to be cannon fodder?”
(T/N: says the actual cannon fodder pft)

“Fortunately there’s a newcomer this time round, otherwise I really don’t know what to do.”

“It seems that one person can be ruled out now.”

“…”

The corners of Yu Yu’s mouth twitched unnaturally, and he internally wondered what all that nonsense was. Just then, another person came in. Dressed in a white casual shirt, with a pair of silver-rimmed glasses on the tall bridge of the nose, together with an impeccably handsome face, he exuded an unapproachable aura.

For some reason Yu Yu felt like he had met this person before, but his face was unfamiliar.

The other people obviously recognized the person, and their brows wrinkled with a complicated and uneasy expression on their faces. Yu Yu thought about it and stepped forward to say hello.

“Hello, I am……”

What was my name again? Yu Yu paused, a dark expression appeared on his face. He had forgotten his own name…

The young man pointed to the sign on Yu Yu’s neck, raising his chin slightly to remind him.

Yu Yu saw a fish drawn on the sign and said casually, “My name is *Xiao Yu.”
*it’s basically a commonly used nickname term, which means little and it’s usually used by adding it in front of the last character of a given name. Also Yu Yu’s name in chinese is the yu for fish, that’s why a fish was drawn on his sign.

“Yun Ze.” The boy replied indifferently, ignoring Yu Yu’s hand hanging in the air.

Yu Yu shrugged indifferently.

The mechanical female voice sounded again, “There are a total of 7 participants in this game. The game time is seven days, and the rules of the game is to find the exit and escape within 7 days. The plot trigger will be sent to the mobile phones in accordance with real time situations .”

After speaking, three people walked towards the teaching building, the other two people went to the cafeteria, and the one who came last went to the library.

Yu Yu inwardly complained that there is basically no difference between saying the rules and not saying it at all. For the first time in years of playing games, he encountered a game with such a high degree of freedom. He rubbed his face helplessly and let out a long sigh of relief.

Fortunately, his ability to adapt is not too bad. As the saying goes, “since we’re already here, why not make the best of it”. Moreover, there isn’t any better idea than this for now.

This is his high school which he has lived in for three years. There are several classes in each grade and he may not know how many people are in each class. However, regarding the amount of peeling paint on the basketball hoop, and the number of trees planted in the woods behind the dormitory, those are the things he knows  better than anyone else.

Since it is an exit, it can’t be indoors. After contemplating for a moment, he turned and walked towards the woods.
