White Lotus

White Lotus 37

After the White Lotus Fell of the Horse - Chapter 37

Tang You woke up early.

The exhaustion from the previous day had taken a toll on her. She fell asleep quickly and hadn't dreamed at all. In a half-awake state, she felt someone kissing her cheek.

Partially conscious, Tang You barely remembered the small goals and grand ambitions she had set for herself. She widened her eyes and saw Xiao Zexing.

The impact of his good looks instantly cleared her mind.

Oh.

She was in such a disheveled state the night before, and yet, Xiao Zexing was still impeccably dressed in his shirt and pants. When he changed into his pajamas later, Tang You was already, curled up in his arms, half-asleep. She was too sleepy to take advantage of the situation.

Xiao Zexing now looked quite tempting to her.

His navy blue pajamas showed more skin than his shirt did. Compared to her, Xiao Zexing wasn't exactly fair, but he wasn't dark either. Tang You's eyes fixed on his pronounced Adam's apple, then trailed down to his clavicle and chest muscles, which undoubtedly felt fantastic. His chest rose and fell evenly with his breath.

She wanted to touch him a little.

Suddenly, Tang You snapped to attention.

The little rabbit had been completely devoured by the old fox, and yet, she hadn't even managed to touch the old fox.

This time she was at a disadvantage—a real loss.

Xiao Zexing moved away from her cheek, his voice slightly lazy as he murmured, "Awake? It's still early. You should get more sleep."

Tang You didn't respond. She extended her guilty hand.

She wanted to touch his muscles. Just a bit…

Before she succeeded, her small hand was captured. Xiao Zexing squinted at her and asked, "What do you want to do?"

Tang You displayed an air of arrogance. "You've done everything you wanted to do. What's wrong with me touching you a bit?"

She attempted to pull her wrist from his grip and wiggled it around twice, but she did not manage to evoke any movement. Swiftly changing her strategy, she played the pity card. "You pinched too hard."

The power of this sentence was indeed substantial. Xiao Zexing slightly loosened his grip, though he didn't let go completely. He asked, "Just what are you thinking about in your little mind everyday?"

Tang You answered indignantly, "Doing the things I like."

"Has our Xiao Youzi gotten the order wrong?" Xiao Zexing pinched her cheek. "Shouldn't you like first and then only should you do it?"

Tang You said, "I didn't say I didn't like it."

Of course, she liked it.

She had been craving him for a while now as if a kitten's paw was scratching at her heart from the inside. As she kept the urge deep within her, her appetite kept growing.

She thought the previous day would be to her satisfaction, but it seemed it had fallen a bit short.

Not wanting to dwell on this issue anymore, Tang You lowered her voice as she spoke, "Second Uncle, can’t I touch you just a little?"

She looked at Xiao Zexing. Her hands and feet were immobilized, but she still had her eyes.

Tang You's eyes resembled those of her mother, Su Yuan, with almond-shaped eyes and a small teardrop mole at the corner. However, while Su Yuan seemed perpetually somber and mournful, Tang You was more cunning and lively.

A real man can adapt to different situations.

Tang You decided to tempt him with an offer, "If you let me touch you, I'll let you play with my furry tail and ears as much as you want. How about that?"

This deal clearly didn't satisfy Xiao Zexing, who remained unfazed. "Say something nicer."

Huh? In this situation, what nice things could she possibly say?

Tang You and Miao Jiaxi had plenty of dirty talk up their sleeves, but it was all during or after the deed, not before.

Moreover, she had no idea what Xiao Zexing liked.

Tang You began seeking his opinion. "So, what do you prefer? Delicate or crude? Or maybe some role play?"

Xiao Zexing held onto her small hand, and just as it was about to touch him, he stopped. Though her tiny hand strained to stretch, it still couldn't reach him. Just about a centimeter away, but he wouldn't let her touch him.

Tang You felt that this was too cruel.

It was even more cruel than dangling a dog treat in front of a puppy's mouth and not letting it have it.

She finally understood how Tang Huhu felt.

Sorry, little one. Mom won't tease you like this again.

With a heart full of resentment, Xiao Zexing lowered his head and pressed it against her ear as he coaxed her, "Say that you like me."

With just these five words, his deep voice sent a tingling sensation behind her ear.

Her heart started to flutter.

Tang You had no resistance to his whispered words. Subconsciously, she relented to him and muttered, "I like you."

"Who do you like?"

This time, Tang You's response was exceptionally quick, "I like Xiao Zexing."

Xiao Zexing smiled, held her small hand, and accurately placed it on her intended target. He gently kissed her forehead and said, "This is your reward for being obedient."

The reward for the good girl lasted two minutes, and the little white rabbit finally succeeded in touching the old fox's muscles.

She hugged him in satisfaction. Suddenly, she understood the feeling of ancient emperors not wanting to attend court early in the morning.

Kissing Xiao Zexing felt wonderful.

Of course, it would be even better if she could get to know him even more.

Eventually, like a koala, Tang You was carried back to her room by Xiao Zexing. After waking up from her nap, the staff also delivered the dress to her.

She wore a light blue dress this time for the underwater shoot. To ensure easy, comfortable movement, the dress was designed to be quite unique. It had a swimsuit underneath, and the skirt from the waist down was specially designed to reveal her pale, slender legs.

As a precaution, a professional lifeguard was on standby.

After trying on the dress, Tang You began to think about how to conceal the bruises.

After all, she couldn't show any marks on camera.

The worst bruising was around her waist, but her ankles were relatively fine. The bruises from two days ago had mostly faded. Her hickeys were covered by the swimsuit, so there was no need to worry about it getting exposed.

Sitting in her room, Tang You turned on the air conditioning and began applying some concealer to the bruises on her body.

Finally, she saw the message that Xiao Weijing had sent her from the previous night as well as Xiao Zexing's incredibly arrogant response.

Tang You stared at Xiao Zexing's reply and laughed for a long time. Suddenly, she felt a deep sympathy for Xiao Weijing.

He was so pitiful. He probably still didn't know that his second uncle was a crafty old fox with a wolfish heart, right?

Just as she finished applying the concealer, a message from Miao Jiaxi appeared on the screen.

Miao Jiaxi: My adorable Little Youzi, help me pick out a jacket. I'm going for afternoon tea with Amai!

Tang You wiped the concealer off her fingertips.

Tang You: The one on the left. The pale yellow suits you really well.

After sending the message, Tang You pondered for a moment and quickly sent another message to Miao Jiaxi.

Tang You: Jiajia, how do you think one could successfully spend the night with a man?

Miao Jiaxi: It's simple. Just cater to his preferences.

Of course, Tang You knew she had to cater to his preferences, but now, the problem was, what were Xiao Zexing's preferences?

He didn’t have any romantic history, so she couldn't judge based on his exes.

After pondering laboriously over various factors, Tang You cautiously made two bold assumptions.

First, Xiao Zexing liked soft, fluffy things. Though he didn't have any pets, he showed particular interest in her soft tail and ears. This man's strength was almost excessive; he had even squashed the little furry ball on her sleeping gown. Tang You tried using a hairdryer to bring its puffiness back to life, but it didn't regain its adorable shape. Second, Xiao Zexing seemed to have a liking for her waist as that was where the marks were most prominent, but she couldn't be too sure. Judging by his expressions, he seemed interested in her ankles and the spots where she had bruises as well.

Tang You had to resort to subtle probing to find out.

Huo Xunan had arrived early, and he didn’t seem to be in the best condition. She was still catching up on sleep in her room, and the shoot was scheduled for the afternoon.

Tang You called Yang Mingwei and secretly asked him, "Do you know what kind of women Mr. Xiao likes?"

Yang Mingwei was taken aback by her question and locked eyes with Tang You for a while before cautiously answering, "If I'm not mistaken, Mr. Xiao seems to like you, right?"

Tang You replied with a soft hum.

That seemed to be true.

But that wasn't enough.

Reluctantly, Tang You asked Yang Mingwei, "Has Mr. Xiao really never had any other women around him before? Did Mr. Xiao have a particularly good relationship with any other woman before? Has Mr. Xiao ever complimented other women? What were those women like?"

Tang You bombarded Yang Mingwei with questions, leaving him nearly speechless and sweating profusely as he answered every one of her questions.

On the other side, Xiao Weijing had spent the entire night without sleep and rushed to her location. What he saw upon his arrival at the hotel's terrace was Tang You and Yang Mingwei chatting and laughing together.

The effects of the alcohol Xiao Weijing had consumed the night before had worn off, but the lingering discomfort from it still remained.

Entering the hotel's café, Xiao Weijing greeted Xiao Zexing with a pale face, "Uncle."

Xiao Zexing had been waiting for him for a while. Seeing Xiao Weijing looking disheveled and his body slightly slouched, he asked, "Why did you rush over so anxiously? You don't look so well."

Xiao Weijing sat across from him.

Xiao Zexing drank very little coffee. He had brought his own tea set and tea leaves for this trip. After he had finished brewing the tea, he poured a cup for Xiao Weijing.

The tea was Pu'er tea, which looked clear and had a reddish-brown tint.

Xiao Weijing took a sip, finding it devoid of bitterness and with a rich, delicate aroma instead.

However, his heart was bitter.

He really wanted to tell Xiao Zexing about what he had encountered.

But, he couldn't.

Looking at his second uncle's appearance, he must still be unaware that Tang You and Yang Mingwei had a secret rendezvous. This matter had to be hidden from his second uncle, otherwise, if he were to catch up to Tang You later, it would become an obstacle between them.

Tang You was here for the shoot, and her assistant was Yang Mingwei. There were no other female friends around. She could play on her phone at night and reply to messages with provocative undertones.

It must’ve been a man.

Xiao Weijing had flown for nearly 13 hours to get here, hoping to find out what kind of person could capture Tang You's interest.

Xiao Weijing hadn't expected that the man who had made him sleepless all night was actually Xiao Zexing's assistant.

Clutching his cup, Xiao Weijing asked Xiao Zexing, "Uncle, Yang Mingwei has been working by your side for so long. Now that he's suddenly assigned to Tang You, don’t you feel uncomfortable?"

"What's there to be uncomfortable about?" Xiao Zexing drank his tea, his fingers delicately wrapping itself around the porcelain cup. He seemed even more warm and nonchalant as he responded, "Working for Youyou is much easier than working for me."

There wasn’t anything wrong with his words.

Xiao Weijing gritted his teeth, unable to resist hinting, "Uncle, don't you want to transfer Yang Mingwei back to your side? Find another assistant for Tang You, preferably a female one, since it might be inconvenient with a male assistant."

Finally, Xiao Zexing looked at him directly and asked, "Why are you suddenly so concerned about these trivial matters today?"

Of course, Xiao Weijing wouldn't directly mention that the girl he was planning to pursue had been snatched away by someone else.

He forced a smile and replied as casually as possible, "I never used to pay much attention to Youyou before. I'm trying to make up for it now."

As they were talking, Tang You and Yang Mingwei came in, one after the other, through the glass door.

Yang Mingwei noticed the look in Xiao Weijingi's eyes when he saw him, fully venomous and chilling.

Yang Mingwei, unable to read the situation, was puzzled.

Why did Xiao Weijing seem to hold such animosity toward him?

For a moment, Yang Mingwei even felt like he was the one who cheated on him.

Tang You spotted Xiao Weijing and seemed surprised. "Why are you here?"

Xiao Weijing keenly noticed that there were two spots on her neck where the skin tone seemed discolored.

Like an attempt to cover it up.

Without much thought, Xiao Weijing could deduce the origin of those marks.

Suppressing his anger, Xiao Weijing put on a stern face. "Nothing. I just came to relax."

Tang You didn't seem to take his words seriously at all. She grunted to acknowledge his response before leisurely sitting down next to Xiao Zexing.

A production assistant came over to inform them that Huo Xunan had woken up and was having lunch. After she finished eating and changed clothes, the actual shoot for the day would start.

Given the strong sunlight outside and the proximity of the shooting location, Tang You sat and carefully flipped through the promotional brochure.

Meanwhile, Xiao Weijing quietly sipped his tea, occasionally lifting his gaze to glance at Tang You.

Tang You couldn't discern the quality of the tea and wasn’t fond of it anyway. However, she found herself more intrigued by Xiao Zexing, who was engrossed in reading something on his laptop screen.

She asked curiously, "Second Uncle, what are you looking at?"

Xiao Zexing didn't mind her watching his screen and replied, "A new proposal."

The technical terms on the computer screen were hard for Tang You to understand, and looking at them for too long made her eyes hurt. She glanced briefly and then retracted her gaze.

In fact, compared to those dense technical terms on the computer screen, Tang You found the present Xiao Zexing even more captivating.

Dressed in a simple white shirt buttoned all the way to the top and meticulously tidy, he exuded an air of elegance that perfectly matched the top-tier wealthy class's aesthetic of abstinence.

Tang You adored the way he carried himself, not in the sense of being without desire or passion, but rather in the way Xiao Zexing embodied it—formally impeccable when dressed, yet unrestrained and passionate when he wasn’t. Although she hadn't experienced the latter with him, the veins on his hand from holding back had fascinated her.

The more poised he was, the more she wanted to mess him up and disrupt that sense of order within him.

She yearned to see him lost in desire, to see him wild and wanton.

Xiao Zexing was intently reviewing documents and didn't notice her.

Underneath the lightly colored stone-patterned tabletop, Tang You slipped off her shoes and, feeling emboldened, kicked him gently.

Xiao Zexing gave her a subtle glance without changing his expression.

He didn't say anything or try to stop her.

Meanwhile, Xiao Weijing remained absorbed in his thoughts, unable to shake off the lingering images of those uncovered marks.

He stared at his tea cup.

What was really going on? Could the man who had been with Tang You the day before really be Yang Mingwei?

Had the girl he wanted really fallen for someone else?

At the mere thought of this possibility, Xiao Weijing's heart started to ache even more intensely.

It hurt so much that he could hardly breathe.

Seeing that no one was paying attention, Tang You, feeling even bolder, slowly moved her foot upward along the fabric of his perfectly ironed suit while wearing a defiant smile.

Then, her foot was caught by a large hand.

The audacious little rabbit had provoked the old fox successfully.

Fear finally made her realize what she had done, and she withdrew slightly but to no avail.

Wasn't he afraid of being caught by his nephew?

Having just snapped back to reality, Xiao Weijing noticed the subtle change in Tang You's expression and asked, "What's wrong? Youyou, do you feel unwell?"

He had no clue that, under the table, the little rabbit's foot was firmly held by the old fox.

"It’s nothing." Tang You cleared her throat, worried about revealing her actions. "What's the matter?"

Xiao Weijing looked at her face and gradually recalled what he wanted to say. "Do you remember when you saved someone from the sea back in junior high?"

Tang You tried pulling her foot free but she still failed. Xiao Weijing had suddenly brought up that matter, so she nodded and answered, "It seems so."

Her memory wasn't the best, and she didn't like to waste much thought on these things.

Xiao Weijing's fingers twitched slightly, and he held his breath. "Did that person give you a bracelet of gold and obsidian?"

Without warning, the old fox exerted force in his grip, pulling Tang You’s foot closer to him.

What was he doing now?

Suppressing her discomfort, Tang You asked, "Are you saying that that dark, heavy guy was you?"

Xiao Weijing paused for a moment. “Yes, but at the time, I had just come back from vacation and got quite tan. That wasn’t my natural complexion."

Skin color wasn't really an issue; no one in their family really had dark skin.

Tang You looked him up and down and said genuinely, "You look much better now than back then."

Xiao Weijing remained silent.

Tang You exclaimed with emotion, "Thinking back about it, it was really weird. The water there was actually quite shallow. I had never thought that someone could drown there, let alone someone that heavy, and it almost exhausted me to death."

After lamenting for a moment, she smiled at Xiao Weijing. "If you hadn't brought it up now, I might’ve almost forgotten about it."

Xiao Weijing pursed his lips, gripping the cup tightly in his hand, and said nonchalantly, "There's no way to repay a life-saving favor. How about I give myself to you in return?"

"No, no." Tang You was startled, almost forgetting that her foot was still in someone's grasp. She refused hastily, "You'd be repaying kindness with enmity!"

Xiao Weijing was speechless.

Taking advantage of his momentary distraction, Tang You gathered her strength and kicked Xiao Zexing hard, finally freeing her foot from his grasp.

However, in the process, she also leaned in Xiao Zexing's direction and only managed to prevent herself from embarrassing herself in public by grabbing onto the table in time.

To mask her embarrassment, Tang You turned to Xiao Zexing. "Second Uncle, would you like some water?"

She had just pulled her foot back in a hurry, stepping on her shoe in the process.

She gave it a little wiggle and successfully put it back on.

Xiao Zexing smiled and said, "No need. Eating some grapefruit is hydrating enough."

Because of his words, Tang You quickly shifted her gaze.

Xiao Weijing was somewhat puzzled. "When did you start liking grapefruit, Second Uncle? I don't find them tasty."

Tang You, feeling guilty, chimed in, "I, too, don’t find grapefruits tasty and interesting."

As she spoke, her ears turned red.

"Yesterday, the grapefruit I tasted was sweet like honey and full of moisture." Xiao Zexing smiled at Tang You, his gaze deep. "Isn't that right?"

Too flustered to answer, Tang You stuttered in response.

Xiao Weijing's focus couldn't help but shift. "What kind of grapefruit could be that sweet?"

"I'm not sure about the breed." Xiao Zexing closed his laptop, pinched his nose bridge with his fingers, and grinned. "There's only one like it in the world."

Xiao Weijing managed to extract a bit of life philosophy from that sentence and mused, "Every fruit is unique in its own way.."

Tang You kept drinking water, trying to hide her increasingly flushed face.

Old fox!

He deliberately said all this in front of Xiao Weijing.

This was just too much.

While Huo Xunan was changing clothes, Tang You logged into her Yuko account and posted on Weibo.

After communicating with Huo Xunan, she uploaded a picture of the blue sea and sky with the caption, “Extremely fortunate to collaborate with my childhood idol."

As soon as she posted this, Tang You habitually checked the comments section. As expected, she saw the username "Westward Journey to Gantang" again.

Unable to resist, she clicked on the profile picture and realized that this person seemed to be genuinely one of her fans.

He consistently monitored and interacted with Yuko's posts, rarely posting his original content. Most of his posts were retweets of hers, accompanied by one or two comments.

Occasionally, other fans of Yuko would leave comments under his posts, but he never replied to them.

Maybe she was overthinking it.

He was probably just an ordinary fan.

"Gantang" was just a name of a place, and it was most likely just a coincidence.

Although the music video for the promotional song was only five minutes long, Huo Xunan had exceptionally high standards. In those five minutes, he and the production team discussed every detail meticulously. Among them, the scene of Tang You as a mermaid had a duration of less than thirty seconds, but the staff warned her early on, "Be prepared to shoot for two to three days."

Xiao Zexing wasn't present; he was discussing matters with someone else. Tang You looked around but didn't see the two staff members who had bad mouthed her in front of the ice cream stall the day before.

Doubts began to cloud Tang You's mind, and she couldn't help but ask Yang Mingwei who was next to her, "Do you know of two staff members named Mai and Zhao Nai in the crew?"

Yang Mingwei smiled and answered, "They were dismissed this morning."

Tang You was taken aback. “Huh? Who fired them?”

"Mr. Xiao." Yang Mingwei explained, "He felt that their job performance was inadequate."

This was a lie.

Tang You bit the straw inserted into the coconut.

The coconut juice was so sweet that it even improved her mood.

However, she didn’t expect Xiao Zexing to act so quickly.

She hadn't even mentioned who had mistreated her yet.

The flutter of excitement in Tang You's heart lasted for less than two minutes. When she began to get into the water, the cruel reality hit her.

No one had informed her that Huo Xunan's standards for the shoot were so high. Tang You didn't know how long she had been in the water. She was used to photo shoots, but shooting a music video like this was a first for her.

Although the seawater at the moment wasn't cold, Tang You wasn't particularly afraid of getting into the water. However, the repeated takes of certain scenes left her physically exhausted. By the time she finally emerged from the water, Huo Xunan smiled and told her, "We'll continue tomorrow."

Tang You felt her vision darken.

She didn't want to call Huo Xunan "Uncle" anymore. She wanted to call him "Sir."

Huo Xunan's assistant quietly told Tang You, "Mr. Huo has high standards for the shoot. Your performance was already great. He just wants to have more footage for post-production selection."

Yang Mingwei handed her a piece of clothing and draped it over her shoulder.

Although the waterproof concealer was applied, it couldn't withstand the prolonged soaking. The edges were already starting to show signs of fading.

Sipping on some warm milk, Tang You smiled and thanked the assistant, "Thank you. I’ll keep that in mind.”

If it weren't for the perfectionist nature of her idol, there wouldn't be such fine-quality work being produced each time.

Throughout the shoot, Xiao Weijing remained beside Huo Xunan.

The only scene where Tang You appeared alongside Huo Xunan was when he submerged himself underwater, watching her swim toward him.

This scene, so eerily familiar, made Xiao Weijing's heart ache.

Tang You, who was in the water, looked stunning, almost like a true mermaid. Her long hair floated in the water, and the blue ribbon wrapped around her arm was astonishingly captivating.

The surrounding crew members all marveled at her beauty.

Xiao Weijing could hear people lavishly complimenting her beauty and swimming skills. Each word felt like a dagger, piercing his heart with precision.

She was so beautiful. A beauty he had hoped to enjoy exclusively was now in the hands of another man.

Xiao Weijing clenched his teeth, his gaze dark and unsettled as he watched Tang You laughing and chatting with Yang Mingwei.

Huo Xunan called him twice, and only then did Xiao Weijing return to his senses. "What?"

Huo Xunan smiled helplessly. "There is a sea fishing competition tonight. Do you want to come with us?"

A sea fishing competition?

Xiao Weijing wasn’t interested in fishing and asked casually, "Will Tang You participate?"

"Of course," Huo Xunan said. "Almost everyone in the filming team will participate. There’s a special sea fishing area. Two people will work as a group for three hours. The group that catches the most fish gets a bonus. We’re still lacking one more person.”

Xiao Weijing's focus wasn’t on the prize, and he confirmed again, "Tang You will participate, right?"

"Xiao Hu had just confirmed it with her." Huo Xunan laughed. "Why do you keep asking about Tang You?”

Because I want to court her.

Xiao Weijing asked, “Who is she teaming up with?”

“It should be Yang Mingwei.”

Upon hearing his name, Xiao Weijing suddenly felt uncomfortable. "Put me and Tang You together."

Huo Xunan raised his head and looked at him. "That won't do. You have to ask Tang You first.”

After asking her, Tang You immediately disagreed, "No way, I’ll definitely lose if I’m with Xiao Weijing."

It wasn’t as if this was the first time she had seen these young masters fishing. They even needed someone to help them put the bait on.

To them, fishing was like picking up girls.

They only wanted to enjoy the fruits of labor without actually working for it.

Xiao Weijing really didn't want to see Tang You "cultivate a relationship" with Yang Ming like this and was determined to break them up. He caught a glimpse of Xiao Zexing coming over from the corner of his eye, and his eyes lit up as he called out to him, "Second Uncle!"

Xiao Zexing glanced at him. "What's up?"

Xiao Weijing explained, "There's a night fishing activity. Tang You wants to win. Can you team up with her?"

Xiao Weijing had a well thought-out plan.

As long as Xiao Zexing teamed up with Tang You, Yang Mingwei wouldn't be able to stay close to her anymore.

Dissuading Tang You from forming a deeper bond with that wild man was the goal. His plan was perfect.

Xiao Zexing looked at Tang You and said calmly, "That doesn’t sound like a good idea, right?"

"I think it's a great idea." Xiao Weijing enthusiastically meddled all in the effort of separating Tang You and Yang Mingwei. "Uncle, you're skilled at fishing, and with you around, it's sure to succeed."

Tang You pondered for a moment.

Actually, fishing might be a good opportunity.

Though it wasn't a romantic date, the clear sky during the day would surely lead to a beautiful moonlit night. On the white sandy beach, with the gentle waves, a little wine, and some cuddles…

No, she shouldn't be thinking about that. Her thoughts were getting a bit too steamy.

Tang You looked at Xiao Weijing with approval.

How wonderful! By the time she successfully sleeps with his uncle that same night, she would always remember this moment when he acted as a matchmaker for them.

Because of that look, Xiao Weijing's heart raced, and he hesitantly nudged Xiao Zexing. "Second Uncle?"

Xiao Zexing loosened his tie, handed it to his nearby assistant, and unbuttoned his shirt. "Alright."

Xiao Weijing was immensely grateful to his uncle for this.

The fishing location was quite large, divided into multiple areas to avoid interference. It was decided through a random draw, and Xiao Zexing and Tang You were fortunate enough to have a massive white stone shielding them.

Xiao Weijing found it uncomfortable to even look at Yang Mingwei, let alone speak to him.

This was a matter of a man's pride.

Whoever spoke first would be the loser.

He glanced at Tang You’s direction, but he couldn't see anything.

Just a silent, imposing rock.

On the other side of that rock, Tang You was nestled in Xiao Zexing's arms, learning how to bait a hook from him absentmindedly.

The moon's gentle light bathed the scene. The night breeze was cool, and Xiao Zexing's embrace was warm.

Tang You had never expected she would enjoy hugging and kissing someone this much.

She glanced downward.

To facilitate fishing, he had casually rolled up his shirt sleeves, revealing a large white scar on his forearm's side, like a burn mark.

Why did he have so many scars?

It had been a bit of a blur the day before, and she was too embarrassed to look at him properly.

Xiao Zexing had kept his clothes on throughout, making the scars even more visible than they were now.

With patience, Xiao Zexing explained things again, pausing slightly when he noticed that Tang You was still lost in thought. He asked, "Have you learned it?"

Tang You was brought back to reality. "Huh?"

Seeing her blank expression, Xiao Zexing sighed. "You…"

Tang You looked at his raised hand that was ready to flick her forehead, and immediately closed her eyes, protesting, "If you have something to say, say it properly! A gentleman uses his mouth, not his hands!"

"I'm not a gentleman."

Xiao Zexing pulled her hands away from her forehead.

Tang You closed her eyes, anticipating the flick.

But the flick on her forehead didn't come.

Instead, a kiss landed on her forehead.

Tang You opened her eyes.

Xiao Zexing hugged her again, allowing her to rest against his arm. He pressed his chin against the top of her head and rubbed it slightly as he smiled wryly. "Forget it, I won't rush you."

Tang You nestled into his embrace, her cheeks slowly heating up.

Suddenly, it felt a bit warm, probably from wearing too many clothes.

It could also be that his body temperature was just too high.

Xiao Zexing said softly, "If you have questions next time, there's no need to ask Yang Mingwei. Isn’t it better if you just ask me?"

"Will you tell the truth when I ask?"

"Of course."

Tang You hadn't fully trusted him in some matters after he had tricked her like a sly fox.

However, in this situation, she had no one else to ask.

His likes and dislikes were well-hidden, and it was impossible to get him to reveal them.

After a moment's thought, Tang You asked gently, "When you're doing something you like, what makes it more exciting?"

"Anything works," Xiao Zexing admitted and grinned. "As long as you don't call out another man's name."

Tang You was taken aback.

That would be too provocative!

After a while, Xiao Zexing released her, picked up the fishing rod again, and asked, "Why did you want to sleep with me?"
