White Lotus

White Lotus 39

After the White Lotus Fell of the Horse - Chapter 39

When their eyes met each other’s, Liang Quekui’s face quickly turned as red as a peach, she immediately covered her eyes, trying to hypnotize herself, “I…I didn’t see or hear anything…Ah, Youyou, I’m gonna go outside and wait for you. Remember to come out once you’re done settling your business.”

As she spoke, Liang Quekui hastily fled out.

Tang You stiffly loosened her grip from Xiao Zexing’s tie, her peach blossom eyes filled with despair.

She asked tremblingly, “When did Quekui come over?”

Xiao Zexing kneaded the little paws on his tie while his other hand supported her back, preventing the little rabbit from falling due to excessive shock.

His expression was unchanged. “From the moment you said you liked me.”

Aaaaah!

Tang You was about to go crazy. She got off Xiao Zexing’s legs and stood barefoot on the carpet, wanting to cry but couldn’t. “Then why didn’t you warn me?”

Wait, he did.

But at that time, Tang You thought he was just playing a trick on her.

After all, there can be never too much deception in war. Who knew that the old fox was unexpectedly honest with her today?

Xiao Zexing rearranged his tie and looked at Tang You’s face, which still wore a petrified expression, and smiled. “There’s a chance for you to elevate your seniority. Do you want it?”

“No.”

Tang You’s heart was still in turmoil and her state of mind was disoriented. She refused without even thinking.

In the end, life finally made a move on this little Pomelo1.

Wuwuwu.

Tang You didn’t dare imagine how Liang Quekui would think of her after this.

She lowered her head and looked at herself. She was only wearing an apricot-coloured slip dress. Just then, she was even forcing herself against Xiao Zexing and coercing him to say what seemed like a flirting confession whilst tugging at his tie and looking extremely fierce; ah, and right before that, she even bit his neck.

To the innocent Liang Quekui, just how big of an impact could this hit have been, aaaah! ! !

While Tang You was still disoriented, Xiao Zexing had already taken the Little Devil Lolita dress and carefully looked at its structure. Then, he unzipped the back and gestured to Tang You to raise her arms. “Wear your clothes first.”

After helping her put it on, Xiao Zexing adjusted the corners of her dress and carefully smoothened the fabric. He pulled up the zipper, following the curves of her body. Only then did he embrace her into his arms and soothingly patted her back a few times “What are you afraid of? Everything will be fine.”

Only after Tang You calmed down for five minutes did she follow Xiao Zexing out.

She saw Liang Quekui sitting soullessly in front of a small table.

On top of the table was Xiao Zexing’s previously used cup. Liang Quekui didn’t dare to move; she just kept staring blankly into the air, her whole expression appearing as if she was questioning life.

Hearing a noise beside her, Liang Quekui to Tang You and called out, “Second…Second Aunt.”

Tang You’s scalp immediately felt numb and she waved her hands hurriedly, “No no no, Quekui, your Second Uncle and I—”

The moment her eyes met Liang Quekui’s, she immediately felt like a playboy who got caught in bed cheating.

She was like Hong Shi Xian, while Liang Quekui was Lin Pin Ru2.

That old fox was still as cunning as ever.

Swallowing back her explanations, Tang You said with great difficulty to Liang Quekui, “It might be just a teensy little bit different from what you’re currently thinking.”

She wasn’t even dating her Second Uncle, and yet she had reached the point where she was secretly coveting his body and running off after she’d had her fill.

The price of dating an old fox was too high. She felt like wimping out.

Before she finished her words, Xiao Zexing had already wrapped his arm around Tang You’s shoulders and said with a small smile, “Youyou and I are currently dating.”

Tang You was shocked and lifted her eyes. If her gaze could throw knives, Xiao Zexing would’ve been stabbed through multiple times already.

Aaaaah!

Just what is this old fox trying to do?!

Liang Quekui slightly raised her eyes, weakly saying, “A-actually… that’s what I thought too…”

Her round eyes darkened slightly, but they quickly revitalized as she revealed a big smile, “B-but… But you really do suit each other perfectly, I felt the same way last time too.”

Tang You was speechless. At this moment, Xiao Zexing had already made her identity as his ‘girlfriend’ very solid. This resulted in Tang You feeling that it was impossible to speak out her true thoughts whenever she looked into Liang Quekui’s eyes.

If she really voiced them aloud, she’d most likely frighten this innocent girl.

Should she just accept it for now and, after some time has passed and she successfully slept with that old fox, just tell Liang Quekui that she and Xiao Zexing broke up?

However, this issue needed to be kept as a tight secret; if those elders knew——

Thinking of how Old Man Xiao loses his temper, she was immediately terrified.

Tang You’s vision went black. She grabbed onto a corner of Xiao Zexing’s shirt and faced Liang Quekui. “Quekui, could you help us keep it a secret?”

Liang Quekui was taken aback. “Ah?”

“This thing between Second Uncle and I.” Once Tang You thought about how that old man might find out about this matter, she couldn’t help but feel distressed. “You also know how the relationship between your Second Uncle and I is quite particular, so could you temporarily keep quiet about this matter? And wait until I’ve made a decision to tell the senior…”

Liang Quekui looked at her with an unwavering gaze before nodding her head, “Don’t… don’t worry. I won’t tell any outsiders about this. Especially to my cousin – I won’t say even a single word.”

——Ah, Tang You almost forgot that if this matter went public, the most enraged person could be that ex-fiance of hers, Xiao Weijing.

Before Tang You could let out a breath of relief, she heard Xiao Zexing suddenly speak. “It doesn’t matter. Weijing already knows of this.”

Tang You’s knees almost went weak with fear. “Ah?”

Xiao Weijing knew?

What did he actually know? Was it about her having covetous thoughts and desires towards Xiao Zexing or something else?

Tang You couldn’t imagine what kind of twisted impression Xiao Weijing had of her in his eyes.

Forget it, forget it.

After all, she wasn’t interested in Xiao Weijing. He could think whatever he wanted of her.

She and that bastard didn’t have even a dime’s worth of connection anymore.

Liang Quekui was also dumbfounded, so much so that she didn’t even stutter this time. “Ah?”

Xiao Zexing rubbed Tang You’s head, soothing the bunny whose fur was raised with agitation. “Last time, when we were fishing, Weijing and I spoke with each other. He said that feelings are always the most unpredictable.”

Liang Quekui was greatly touched and couldn’t help but nod her head, her eyes glistening with tears.

Ah, as expected, her cousin was still a benevolent person. Despite his recklessness and impulsiveness, he was still a pure and kind-hearted person.

Liang Quekui took the initiative to hold Tang You’s hand, “You…Youyou, you and Second Uncle must happily stay together till the end. Don’t let our efforts down.”

Even her cousin wholeheartedly blessed their love, so how could she drag them down?

Tang You was both moved and guilt-ridden. “Quekui.”

Liang Quekui immediately stood up.” I’m gonna leave now. You.. you guys can continue.”

Huh?

Continue what?

Liang Quekui pulled away her hand before bowing with embarrassment to them both and leaving.

She even thoughtfully reminded them, “R-remember… to lock the door from the inside too.”

Tang You: “…”

No thanks. All her courage had been scared away.

Her fantasies had already withered.

Liang Quekui walked out with a lowered head and reddened eyes before she suddenly bumped into someone. She looked up to see Xiao Weijing. She let out a deep breath and greeted him. “C-cousin.”

Xiao Weijing looked at her and frowned, “Why do you look like this?”

Liang Quekui said,” I-it’s… nothing. Are you here to look for Second Uncle?”

Ah, this won’t do. Second Uncle is together with Youyou right now, and they might also be doing the stuff they were originally doing before she interrupted them.

Liang Quekui couldn’t help but warn him,” You…Youyou is together with Second Uncle right now.”

Xiao Weijing responded absentmindedly with a hum but continued heading toward the room.

Liang Quekui felt like maybe her cousin didn’t hear what she said. Panicking, she rushed to hold back his arm and spoke more forcefully this time. “Are… are you sure you want to go in right now?”

Xiao Weijing looked at her with furrowed brows, “Quekui, what’s the matter with you today? Are you not feeling well?”

Liang Quekui hinted at him, “It’s… not quite appropriate if you head in right now.”

After all, it’s possible that Second Uncle and Youyou were kissing or hugging, or perhaps engaging in an even deeper level of skinship.

When Liang Quekui thought back to the scene she saw just now, other than feeling uncomfortable, she moreso felt how her face reddened and her heart beat faster.

The two of them were just too perfect for each other, whether it be looks or the way they bicker.

Liang Quekui could even see how their surroundings were filled with pink bubbles.

When a pair of lovers are intimately interacting, it’d be spoilt if an ex-fiance like Xiao Weijing heads over.

Just like how a pot of good soup is ruined if a small pebble is suddenly thrown in.

Her cousin, who wholeheartedly blessed his Second Uncle and ex-fiancee already, was much better than a rat poo, but this just wasn’t an appropriate time.

Xiao Weijing dismissed her. “What isn’t appropriate? It’s not like this is the first or second time it’s happened. I’m not blind enough to have not seen it.”

Second Uncle has always been considerate and caring towards Youyou.

Her cousin had already seen them like that?!

He’d already seen Second Uncle and Youyou doing that stuff?!

Liang Quekui: “…”

She hesitated for a moment before loosening his arm and sincerely said, “C-cousin… you’re much more open-minded than I thought.”

So open-minded to the point where Liang Quekui almost wanted to slap her thighs and shout ‘holy shit’.

Xiao Weijing: ”Hm?”

Liang Quekui admiringly said, “You really are a man.”

What was this nonsense?

What was wrong with his little cousin today?

With a puzzled expression, Xiao Weijing pushed open the door and went in. The first he saw was Tang You dressed in a Little Devil Lolita dress and Xiao Zexing sitting in front of her drinking tea.

You see? Why would it have been inappropriate for him to come over?

Although Youyou was his ex-fiancee, there weren't any problems with them sitting down for a cup of tea together.

There were those who’d divorce and still remain friends; all they did was cancel their engagement.

Even the table still had room for a third person. He arrived just in time for it!

It was perfect.

Tang You watched Xiao Weijing walk over with a calm expression. It was as if he wasn’t the slightest bit shocked seeing her and Xiao Zexing together.

She couldn’t help but start feeling impressed by Xiao Weijing.

——Initially, Tang You thought Xiao Weijing was the kind of guy who tended to be indecisive and easily swayed by words, just like your typical foolish son of a wealthy family; however, she didn’t expect him to be so magnanimous.

If she looked at it from his point of view and Xiao Weijing was entangled with one of Tang You’s juniors, even if she harboured no thoughts towards Xiao Weijing, she may still feel slightly uncomfortable about it.

But Xiao Weijing was actually very calm about this.

He could even come over and chat over tea, magnanimous without a hint of resentment.

She truly admired him.

Xiao Weijing sat down. “Second Uncle, Youyou, what a coincidence.”

——A coincidence indeed. If you had come any moment earlier, or if Liang Quekui wasn’t here just now, you would’ve found yourself admiring how your Second Uncle was forced down and teased by this ex-fiancee of yours.

Tang You could only secretly think such words in her heart as she hummed in response.

Xiao Zexing took a new cup and placed it in front of him while asking Xiao Weijing, “What are you here for?”

Xiao Weijing frankly answered,” For Youyou’s marriage.”

Tang You almost spat out her tea.

Marriage?!

She looked at Xiao Zexing incredulously.

Did the old fox want to use legal means to tie her to his side forever?

Xiao Zexing was indifferent as he remained silent. His slender fingers tapped the porcelain cup and the dimples on his cheeks were slightly revealed.

Tang You looked at Xiao Weijing with utter dismay.

As Xiao Weijing locked his gaze with hers, he understood her shock and considerately explained, “Second Uncle told me everything.”

He already knew the matter of Tang You and Yang Ming dating and preparing to get married.

! ! !

Could it be that he even told you how he was almost going to dye some colour onto your hair?

Could it be that you also knew how your ex-fiancee had been coveting your Second Uncle’s body?

As someone who was almost cheated by your senior, your current behavior right now is just too calm, Silly Xiao!

Or was this actually the rumored ‘calm before the storm’?

After Tang You swallowed her tea down with great difficulty, she rigorously reorganized her facial expression. “I apologize.”

“You’re not in the wrong.” Xiao Weijing thought back to the words Yang Ming said, and a stab of pain and discomfort ran through his heart. He still braced on, trying to comfort her, “After all, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty even wed his own daughter-in-law. Bluntly speaking, this isn’t that big of a deal. Also, the relationship between you two is much simpler.”

Hearing him make such an extreme comparison, Tang You was dumbfounded for a moment. “I misjudged you.”

After some time, she sincerely added, “You really are a man with steel endurance.”

After she snapped out of how ‘Xiao Weijing’s mental tolerance is really strong’, Tang You suddenly remembered another point that made her confused. “My marriage?”

Xiao Zexing calmly said, “It’s still being discussed.”

As soon as this was brought up, Xiao Weijing’s complexion turned ugly. “Youyou, you should think this through again. I still don’t think you guys are suitable for each other.”

Yang Ming was just an insignificant assistant. How could he be worthy of Tang You?

Tang You: “…”

From the moment he entered until now, Xiao Weijing finally said something worthy of his station.

There was a feeling of it being totally unexpected, yet still reasonable at the same time.

The smile on Xiao Zexing’s face slowly disappeared and he calmly looked at Xiao Weijing. He clasped both his hands together and placed them on his lap. “I thought we already made it clear last time.”

“I’ve been ceaselessly thinking of this matter recently.” Xiao Weijing sincerely locked eyes with him and tried to sway his Second Uncle’s stance. “Second Uncle, you’re right. I might’ve been acting this way because of my desire to monopolize her, but I’m also very aware that Youyou should not be married in this marriage. You care for her so much that you should understand.”

Yang Ming truly wasn’t suitable for her.

Tang You nodded her head vehemently. “I also think it's not suitable!”

She may not be good enough for Xiao Zexing.

Xiao Zexing massaged his temples. He was about to say something before he heard Xiao Zeyan's footsteps walk in and laughingly call out, “Zexing? Are you alright? If so, then quickly come over. If you don’t help out, my stomach really may not be able to hold on.”

As soon as Xiao Zeyan stepped into the room and saw the three people inside, he first smiled and greeted Tang You. “Oh, Youyou is also here.”

Tang You stood up stiffly and greeted back, “Hello, Bobo3.”

Xiao Zeyan is Xiao Zenian’s uncle. According to seniority, she had to call him Bobo.

Xiao Zeyan warmly asked her, “Youyou, why don’t you head down and play with Quekui? I need to borrow your Second Uncle and Brother Weijing to drink for me.”

Tang You listened to him. “Alright, then I’ll leave you to it.”

Xiao Zexing stood up.

Tang You still had her head lowered, revealing her slender white neck.

Xiao Zexing looked at it for a while before saying, “Youyou, you should also be careful and not touch any alcohol.”

Tang You stared at her feet, “I know, Second Uncle.”

Xiao Zeyan called Xiao Zexing and Xiao Weijing to head down. He smilingly said to Xiao Weijing, “Weijing, later, you should also persuade your father to drink less…”

Tang You sat in the room, staring blankly at the quiet room.

She fell into a deep melancholy.

Sigh, didn’t she originally just covet her Second Uncle’s body?

How did everything become so confusing? She almost became her own ‘Second Aunt’…

It felt like she was falling into a trap that kept getting deeper and deeper.

She couldn’t escape from it.

Xiao Zenian loved drinking alcohol but was different from Xiao Zexing in a way that it didn’t matter what liquor it was – he’d love drinking it anyway.

Xiao Weijing didn’t inherit his father’s good alcohol tolerance. After merely a few drinks, he couldn’t handle it anymore; as he half-leaned on the chair, his drunken eyes saw Song Yu elegantly come in. He smiled and faced Xiao Zexing. “Second Uncle.”

At that moment, Xiao Zexing had already helped Xiao Zeyan block many drinks and found himself feeling slightly drunk, so he stopped. Instead, he fiddled with a lighter.

Just then, there were a few people who passed some cigarettes to him but he didn’t take any.

Although Xiao Weijing also wanted to quit smoking, he couldn’t resist the temptation like Xiao Zexing.

As someone already addicted to smoking, trying to quit this habit wasn’t as easy as it sounded.

He didn’t know why, but Xiao Weijing felt as if his Second Uncle could successfully quit his habit of smoking.

Xiao Zexing paid no mind to Xiao Weijing’s stinging gaze.

A faint fragrance wafted over.

Xiao Zexing’s brows furrowed.

Xiao Zeyan, who was sitting to the side, took the initiative to give away his seat.

Song Yu sat on Xiao Zeyan’s original seat and smilingly looked at him. “Brother Zexing.”

Xiao Zexing didn’t even raise his eyes.” According to seniority, you should be calling me Uncle.”

Song Yu’s smile didn’t falter. She even teased, “You’re not afraid of people calling you old?”

Xiao Zexing finally turned to look at her. He didn’t reply and, instead, smiled. “Zeyan is your senior. Usually, it’ll be the juniors who give up their seats for the seniors; when has there ever been a time when seniors give up their seats for their juniors? Miss Song, how do you not understand even this kind of discipline?”

Xiao Weijing was sitting on the other side of Xiao Zexing. Hearing these words, he was put in a frozen trance.

Wasn’t it bad for Second Uncle to scold Miss Song in front of everyone and not leave her some face4?

Sigh, didn’t Father say he wanted to set up Song Yu and Second Uncle? So, why is Second Uncle so cold towards her?

Having drunk so much alcohol, Xiao Weijing’s head felt heavy and dizzy. He tried raising his arms and pushing himself up as he blankly looked at Xiao Zexing, and then at Song Yu.

…Didn’t someone tell him how the Old Man was busy preparing for his Second Uncle’s wedding? Wasn’t his bride Song Yu? Did he get it wrong?

Then who was Second Uncle getting married to?

Tang You was the only person on Second Uncle’s side and there weren’t any other women of marriageable age.

After receiving Xiao Zexing’s reprimand, Song Yu’s smile was hard to sustain.

Xiao Zeyan tried smoothening the atmosphere. “It’s just a seat. Our family isn’t that unreasonable.”

Xiao Zenian lit up a cigarette and turned to smile at Xiao Zexing. “Of course we aren’t. Zexing, don’t be so cold. You should chat more with Miss Song.”

Xiao Zexing lazily sat there while he listened. He raised his eyes and smiled. “What sort of topics can we talk about? There seem to be some generational gaps between us.”

Song Yu reminded, “Brother Zexing must’ve drank too much; after all, you’re only five years older than me.”

Xiao Weijing also interjected, “There don’t seem to be any gaps. Youyou’s also only younger than me by five years.”

Xiao Zexing was silent. He momentarily closed his eyes while massaging his temples, and then threw the lighter into the trash. “You guys can continue.”

He stood up and headed outside.

Song Yu felt uneasy by his sudden displeasure, yet also didn’t understand why he was so angry, so she just sat there, dumbfounded.

From beside her, Xiao Zenian couldn’t help but prompt her, “Xiao Yu, you should go outside and check on him. Zexing’s temperament is always like this.”

Because of his encouragement, Song Yu gathered her courage and went out to chase after him.

Once she pushed open the door, she found that Xiao Zexing’s figure had already reached the corner. Song Yu gritted her teeth and called out, “Second Uncle!”

This made Xiao Zexing stop in his tracks. He turned around and looked indifferently at Song Yu.

Song Yu approached him tremblingly. “Second Uncle.”

Xiao Zexing glanced at her and said, “I initially thought Miss Song was a smart person. Now it seems that I was wrong.”

Song Yu froze.

Xiao Zexing stopped paying any mind to her and turned at the corner before he paused. He immediately caught the eavesdropping little rabbit hidden near the wall and carried her back into the side room, closing the door from the inside.

Click.

Tang You haven’t had the chance to let out a sound before she was hugged by Xiao Zexing. He didn’t make any inappropriate moves – just kept holding her.

Tang You tilted up her face.

Actually, Xiao Zexing didn’t put much of his weight into suppressing her. It’s just that the way he was hugging her was a bit tiring, so he remarked in a low voice, “Little one, won’t you grow up faster?”

The scent of wine shrouded the man’s body, along with the faint scent of tobacco mixed with cedar and vetiver.

Tang You grasped his arm and couldn’t help but ask, “How could you be so cold to her? Song Yu’s waist is also very thin; if she wore something woolly, she’d look very pretty.”

Xiao Zexing responded, “She isn’t Little Youzi.”

Tang You couldn’t help but admit that her little heart tremored for a few seconds because of this.

Her urge to sleep with him intensified.

The little rabbit moved eagerly and her eyes glistened. She wanted to advantage of the old fox’s drunkenness to secretly touch his abs. “Then, can this Little Youzi touch your abs?”

However, before her little paws could grasp Xiao Zexing’s shirt, it was grabbed by the old fox.

Tang You thought she’d already figured out the old fox’s temper. Having learnt from it, pleasant words began habitually flowing from her tongue. “Second Uncle is my favorite person, so the thing I want to do most is touch Second Uncle’s abs. Second Uncle, will you let me touch them?”

Xiao Zexing lowered his eyes to look at her. “Go out with me.”

Tang You choked out, ”Can’t we just have sex?”

“No.”

Tang You couldn’t help but extend her arms out to hug his neck. She tilted her face up and rubbed it against his chest, acting coquettish in an attempt to successfully sleep with the old fox. “Second Uncle.”

Shouldn’t drunk men have poor self-control? She’d definitely succeed!

As expected, right after she called out to him, Xiao Zexing carried her bridal style and lightly placed her on the bed.

Tang You was overjoyed.

Yet, in the next moment, Xiao Zexing took off his tie and wrapped her hands together tightly in a knot.

And then headed to the bathroom to carefully clean his hands.

Tang You. “….”

She had an idea of what Xiao Zexing wanted to do.

Wuwuwu, turns out this time would be the same as when they went out to fish in the sea last time.

***

Light rain began to pour outside the window, wetting the glass as a haze spread.

To avoid the rain, a small trembling sparrow stood on the rose-filled balcony.

It tilted its head, almost as if it could hear the little rabbit’s faint crying. It didn’t sound like the old fox was biting or eating her; rather, it sounded as if her paws were being played with.

The little sparrow stayed under the roof for not too long before the crying stopped.

Xiao Zexing’s shirt was as unwrinkled and tidy as before. He undid the tie and leaned over to kiss Tang You’s cheek twice before patiently coaxing her, “Good girl, don’t cry anymore.”

Tang You’s eyes were slightly red, completely due to anger.

She didn’t even want to move; as someone who had low stamina, her bad habit was that she only wanted to sleep now.

Xiao Zexing held her small paws and, through his shirt, pressed them against his warm waist. “I’ll let Little Youyou touch my abs now, alright?”

Tang You’s eyes and nose were still red. With a hoarse voice, she retorted, “No, this sort of coaxing isn’t enough. I want a bigger prize.”

Although she said such words, her small paws still couldn’t help but touch those muscles.

It felt good to touch.

The little white rabbit turned into Pokonyan as she hinted, “I must see it today.”

It was quite shameful; she’d planned for this for so long, all of which was in vain as she still hadn’t seen his tool yet.

She angrily protested, “All these times, I’ve been meeting with a eunuch. How ridiculous!”

Those little paws tried moving down, but Xiao Zexing remained unmoved and stuffed her hands back under the quilt.

Tang You’s face was somewhat hidden under the soft quilt; only a pair of aggrieved peach blossom eyes could be seen.

She couldn’t help but yawn.

“If you’re tired, you should sleep.” Xiao Zexing wiped his fingers clean before rubbing her cheeks. “Rewards should be handed out one at a time.”

Tang You couldn’t help but follow his words and asked, “Then what should I do for you to show it to me?”

Let’s not mention seeing the gun loaded; even now, she still hadn’t caught sight of the gun itself.

It was truly too difficult for her.

As the saying goes, the more a woman wanted to sleep with a man, the more likely it’d be like splitting yarns5.

While Tang You’s situation was different, chasing after this old fox was extremely hard; not only did she have to split yarns, she had to split mountains and seas, and fathers and mothers.

Xiao Zexing reached out and gently tapped her forehead. He smilingly replied, “Until your little brain fully understands.”

Tang You impatiently stared at him.

Xiao Zexing kissed her lips while his finger rubbed a strand of her hair. “Youyou, you’re still young and naive. I’m not.”

***

The little rabbit was easily coaxed and quickly fell asleep.

Xiao Zexing bathed for almost twenty minutes before stepping out.

He found Liang Quekui and asked her to tell Manlan that Youyou was already asleep.

When Liang Quekui went over, Zhao Manlan was playing cards. After hearing her report, she immediately put down her cards and worriedly asked, “Is Youyou alright? She’s not sick, is she?”

Liang Quekui shook her head, trying very hard to keep up her lies. “N-no… She’s fine. She’s just tired from playing around.”

Only then did Zhao Manlan feel reassured and personally gave Meng Yunqiu a call to notify her.

Xiao Weijing drank a lot that day. With the alcohol getting to his head, he walked in a big circle before he found Xiao Zexing. He pulled his arms while stumbling,” Second Uncle, I have something to tell you.”

After speaking, he carefully observed Xiao Zexing and questioned, “Second Uncle, why did you change your clothes?”

Xiao Zexing replied, “My clothes from before got stained with wine.”

Xiao Weijing slowly responded with a hum. He pulled Xiao Zexing into an empty room and pressed on his shoulders, signaling for him to sit down. “Second Uncle, I thought about a lot tonight. I still can’t let Youyou… Hick… Get married like this.”

The tea on the table was already cold. Xiao Zexing didn’t have any intentions of calling someone to change it. After drinking the tea to cool down his anger, he asked, “And why is that?”

Xiao Weijing drank too much; while supporting his forehead, he indignantly said, “With how old that guy is, how could he ever be worthy of Youyou?! Doesn’t he feel embarrassed to be an old cow trying to eat some tender grass?! How shameless! He’s like a toad trying to eat a swan!”

Xiao Zexing poured the cold tea into his cup until it was filled to the brim.

He pondered over which angle he should splash it onto Xiao Weijing’s face.

Right as he picked up the cup, Xiao Weijing couldn’t help but start to complain again, “Second Uncle, Yang Ming has always been by your side and I know that his ability as your assistant is outstanding, but how is he worthy of Youyou? How does Yang Ming even have the nerve to marry Youyou?”

The cup was held in midair. Xiao Zexing furrowed his brows. “Assistant?”

The more Xiao Weijing spoke, the more emotional he got. “Yes, he’s just a mere assistant, so what right does he have to marry Youyou? I finally understand – that Old Man must’ve done this intentionally to disgust me. That’s why he randomly gave Youyou to that kind of person. Second Uncle, in my opinion, I think the only person in this world who could be comparable to me and also be worthy of Youyou, is someone like you—”

Xiao Zexing gently placed the cup back down on the table and smiled slightly. “I think the same.”

Xiao Weijing’s expression was as if he finally found a confidant.

He excitedly stood up and paced around with glimmering eyes/ “I didn’t expect that you would think the same, Second Uncle – why don’t you try convincing the Old Man again—”

“That won’t be necessary,” Xiao Zexing stared directly at him, “As the person who wants to marry Youyou is me.”
