How to Raise a Baby in an Apocalypse - Chapter 16 - All Exits Were Blocked

The three remaining teammates had families of their own at home. Needless to say, they couldn’t stay in the kitchen forever waiting for rescue to arrive.

Sometimes, when people encountered a moment of life and death, they realized that the most regrettable things in the world were not being able to say a proper goodbye to those they loved and were loved by; not being able to tell them to take care, and not being able to tell them not to worry, and that they would be fine.

Regardless of whether their loved ones were “sick”, they would like to check on them too. They wanted to share the words in their hearts, whether spoken or unspoken, to them as well.

A hellish ordeal awaited Zhan Lian and the others. In the distant hospital in Xing District, in Xiangcheng of China, An Ran stood in the bathroom, looking at herself in the mirror, repeatedly trying to boost her own spirits.

She had to be strong. Calling the police now would be useless, and Zhan Lian was far away in the northwest region, so it would be impossible for him to come back to rescue her and her daughter immediately. However, she could borrow a phone and call Zhan Lian to give him a proper apology and inform him that she had given birth to their daughter.

With this thought, An Ran’s scattered thoughts finally found some kind or order. She hurried out of the bathroom and asked Hu Zhen for her phone. But when she went back into the bathroom and leaned against the door, she realized that Hu Zhen’s phone had no signal at all.

An Ran was completely at a loss.

What to do now? What to do?? All exits were blocked, and all chances of survival were extinguished one by one. What should An Ran do? Suddenly, she felt powerless and sank to the ground. Looking at the bathroom walls, tears began to well up in her eyes.

Was she going to depend on herself now? No one could support her anymore, and she had to rely on herself. Truly at her wits’ end, there was no hope left. She had to find a way to save her daughter. Since she was young, she had never had anyone to rely on; she had always relied on herself.

Outside the door, the phone signal of the delicate woman of bed number 18 suddenly vanished. Her emotions became more agitated as she paced back and forth in front of Hu Zhen’s bed. Finally, unable to bear it any longer, she said to Hu Zhen, “This bastard, I’m going out to look for him!”

“But—” Hu Zhen turned her head and looked at the woman in bed number 18 with a frown. She advised, “Maybe you shouldn’t go out. An Ran said—”

“And you believed her?”

The woman in bed number 18 laughed as she walked to the side of the bed, opened the door of the room and walked out. She had figured that An Ran of bed number 16 was a lunatic. The blood on her legs had to be postpartum bleeding, and to allow the bleeding to get this bad without changing her sanitary napkin, wouldn’t she be the definition of insane?

And because of that, An Ran said there were people eating other people? Hahahaha!

Chen Jiao, still in the midst of criticizing An Ran, saw a man walking past her. This man had swollen veins pulsing on his forehead, and his eyes were dull, and fangs were seen protruding at the corners of his mouth. The fangs were long, just like those of a wild beast.

“AH!!!” Chen Jiao let out a loud scream that was sharp and piercing, almost echoing through the entire corridor, causing the “man” who was about to pass her to suddenly stop and turn around slowly before quickly locking onto Chen Jiao’s direction. At the same time, the zombies who had scattered from An Ran’s phone earlier in the entire corridor began to move towards Chen Jiao’s direction as well.
