Raise a Baby in an Apocalypse 29

How to Raise a Baby in an Apocalypse - Chapter 29 - Only Two

At times of life and death, emotions can become remarkably straightforward. That’s right, An Ran acknowledged it; she was genuinely afraid. At that moment, she didn’t want to be strong alone. She just wanted to wait for her ex-husband to rescue her.

However, after crying for a while, An Ran felt that the zombie bites on her shoulder blades were not as painful as before. She glanced with tears in her eyes and saw that the two small blood holes had already scabbed over. How was this possible? Had time passed quickly, or had it been a long time already?

Time did not allow An Ran to slowly contemplate, to gradually dispel the darkness in her heart, and to consider whether or not to get vaccinated. She saw a zombie had already squeezed in through the gap in the door.

An Ran hastily picked up the knife from the ground and went to kill the zombie, slashing it down and laying the zombie on top of the first zombie like a human pyramid.

After killing several zombies in succession, she finally got a moment of respite. The crisis of survival made her feel that the two zombie bites on her seemed to no longer hurt.

When the pain had completely subsided, An Ran silently lowered her head, picked up the diamonds mixed with brain matter on the ground, and turned around with the knife to enter the blue light room.

Opening the sliding door of the blue light room, she found five zombies inside, all wearing doctor and nurse uniforms. In the dark room, they were gathered around two blue light incubators, eager to find a way to break through the glass and devour the babies inside. The zombies hadn’t noticed An Ran entering the room due to the cries of the babies.

On the ground lay the skeletons of adults and babies. They had already turned into skeletons! It seemed to be that of the doctors and nurses who did not turn into zombies. Along with the babies, they were all eaten by the zombies.

The entire blue light room was in a chaotic state, with some blue light incubators pushed to the side. Clearly, there had been signs of struggle in here, likely between the non-zombified medical personnel and the zombies.

They must have tried their best to protect some of the children; otherwise, why were there still two living babies crying in the blue light room?

An Ran wanted to slap herself. Why couldn’t she have become stronger earlier? This way, she could have found a way into the blue light room sooner, and the babies would not have been eaten.

Suddenly, An Ran’s heart turned to ashes. She walked past the blue light incubators and looked at the babies inside, none of whom made a sound. They all had grown fangs, lying helplessly in the blue light incubators, waiting to die as no one fed them flesh and blood.

No, these babies were already dead!

Only two babies in the blue light incubator were still crying, yet those cries sounded awfully weak. Without anyone feeding them soon, they were also not far from death.

An Ran’s heart suddenly ached unbearably. There were things she didn’t dare to think about, as thinking about them was a nightmare she could not escape. She tightened the fruit knife in her hand, stood behind a zombie, lifted the knife, and stabbed into the zombie’s brain.

The adjacent zombie was oblivious, as it was still trying to open the blue light incubator in front of it. An Ran continued to kill, eliminating all three zombies around this particular incubator.

The child inside was still crying. An Ran reached a hand through the round hole on the side of the blue light incubator, gripping the small wrist of the child. Under the blue light, she looked at the bracelet on the child’s wrist. It didn’t have her name; it said “Chen Jiao”. This was Chen Jiao’s son!
